Aye beautiful video homie. I feel like I actually have a good answer to getting sprawled on after I take a shot. I appreciate it

A teammate took Henry cejudo down with this in high school. Cejudo kicked his was after but it was still a beautiful takedown

What if they lock their hands? Or sink their hips deeper? Or if they’re moving around you? (Not critical, literally asking what you do in more of a live scenario?)

There are a variety of secondary techniques that work for the scenarios you’ve mentioned. I’ll continue to put out technique videos addressing them, stay tuned 👌🏻

first of all i must say this is a great wrestling playlist for beginners, great explanations and built in a really smart way. (and i say this as a striking coach) I also have a question regarding the peek out. if my opponent wins the hand fight and position his hand in front of my shoulders, is it possible to still pick out? if yes, what is the adaptation that i need to do in order to complete the peek out? if not, than what else can i do instead of peeking out?

Really appreciate the instructional. Feels most natural to step my non lead leg through with the rest of coordination. does it matter, since the quad stance is neutral?
@WrestlingUniversity
@WrestlingUniversity Жыл бұрын
Hey Frank! Exactly, does not matter which leg you step forward since you have equal opportunity to either side. Good catch

What if their hands are already locked together ?
@WrestlingUniversity
@WrestlingUniversity Жыл бұрын
Good question. With enough force you can still hit this, but a secondary option would be the “barrel roll” which I’ll have to make a video on. Basically you hook above both their elbows with both of yours and start rocking side to side eventually exposing a side that’s more vulnerable than the other and flip them to their back. Now you’re on top and can switch to side control or stay there and smother them 🙌🏻

Does this work high level college wrestling?
@WrestlingUniversity
@WrestlingUniversity Жыл бұрын
Absolutely. As with all high level competition, it needs to be hit quick and clean. It is also reliant on the brief moment right after a failed shot when both arms are momentarily draped over your torso. If they recover into a front headlock position then we’ll move into secondary options (drags from underneath, short fireman’s, etc).
