Ed Wright is awesome! I'm a Ferris guy and I've spoken with him before about his mowers that I've demoed and I've told him about my Ferris mowers and the pros and cons of both mower brands. He's definitely a great guy and is always willing to talk mowers and he knows his stuff. Glad he helped you out with your problem. Have a great 2022 season!

Kudos to you for the perseverance to try everything to rectify your cutting issue. To many people are quick to bash the cut quality of Wright mowers. So much so it has had me on the fence of wanting to buy one or not. This video has really helped quell some of the negative reviews I have seen. Thanks so much for posting this.

That’s my goal of this video! It’s cutting like a champ now. Thank you for watching and glad it’s given you something new to consider in regards to the cut quality bashing. If you do end up buying one, have the dealer check for warp before you even drive away with it.

great video. been thinking about picking one of these up to demo. I'm in michigan and cut a ton of bluegrass and fescue just like you. Id love to see how it does compared to my exmark's
@barneslawntree48773 жыл бұрын
The northern baffle kit I have installed makes the aero core deck cut more like an Exmark according to Wright. Exmark, Ferris, and Scag dominate my area for commercial mowers.

Wright ZK 61 37 Vanguard my "poor cut quality" is fixed about every 100 hours when I finally stop being lazy and change blades. What a nightmare chasing a warped deck would be! Its always something. It has to be severely overgrown for more than a double cut. Second pass an inch higher than the first works down here in GCI Country.

Great video usually happens when you hit something hard my friend had a mower with that problem many years ago unfortunately the manufacturer said hit it with a hammer and fix it never cut right and the mower was sold 😠

BL&T, I have a question!!!!??? I just bought a36 STANDER I. What kind of cut quality problems or results did you have???? I also have a 36 Scag walk behind and it is night and day difference! BUT, my deck does not have a level deck side to side. So I have to fix that first. But I am worried. Thank you!

The real question is how does it cut weedy lawns?
@barneslawntree48773 жыл бұрын
Is there any deck that cuts pure weeds cleanly? I don’t have issues with the weedy lawns. I slow down a bit and that does the trick to avoid missed weeds or a double cut.

Man I’d like to believe their story with the warping but 1/8 of an inch warp isn’t much. I can think of many times my deck has been packed FULL of grass (which is uneven) and my mower was still cutting great. But that’s on a Ferris. Wonder really what it was that changed to help it cut better. Maybe they didn’t have belt tight enough so blade speed was slower and when new deck went on they tightened the tension up making them spin faster? 🤷♂️
@barneslawntree48773 жыл бұрын
New belts went on before the warp check was done and it still cut awful. I totally get what your saying about having a deck packed with grass and it still cutting vs the warp I had and it destroying the cut quality.
@st.louisequipment26713 жыл бұрын
Was definitely the deck. Don't know how to explain it but Wright gave no pushback, sent a new deck, we put it on and the difference was night and day
@allamerican78303 жыл бұрын
@@st.louisequipment2671 there had to be more wrong with that deck that you didn’t find. 1/8 of an inch isn’t significant enough to cause this guys cutting problems. I bet you could measure 10 different mowers out there and find them to all be off that much or more and they still cut good. Think about it when a deck gets full of grass in certain spots, sometimes that grass is half an inch thick in spots. It still cuts fine. So... 🤷♂️
@tandemrotor13 жыл бұрын
@@allamerican7830 The problem isn't with the 1/8th inch difference in deck surface. This isn't about airflow. The problem is that the spindles are bolted to the deck, and a 1/8th inch difference from side-to-side, or front-to-back will cause the angle of the spindle shaft to change by several degrees. When that happens, it doesn't really matter if the deck is level. Because the spindles/blades won't be level with each other.
