Dimash is thirty years old and has been active on the stage since the age of five. In these twenty-five years, he has been documented more than any contemporary singer of international fame, analyzed, criticized, praised or openly hated by all kinds of real and pseudo-connoisseurs. And for all these twenty-five years, NOT ONE HIGH TECH was able to reproduce another Dimash! That says it all!

Whatever one may think, he has nothing to prove, he created something new, opened the way to discover the unique possibilities of the human voice, we still cannot appreciate what a legend we are living with in this period.I've been listening to music my whole life, no one can name a single singer who has all the vocal registers developed to such a high level. Let's leave aside technique and other things. His head voice alone is enough to shock you, he's the only male singer who has developed this register to such a high level. I'm not just talking about singing notes. He combines unique talent + tireless work. I don't know why his Hater can exist at all, he's been on stage for so many years and is popular and you can't find anything that makes you think badly of him, on the contrary, his personality deserves separate appreciation. The truth is that his haters know best that he really is the best, that's why they hate him. I won't name names, but mostly it's fans of other vocalists who can't get over the fact that he's so amazing. Even if he were to end his career today, he would already be a legendary singer who has left his mark. I have never been a fan of anyone, and I don't think it's normal to have the level of fanaticism I see in today's fans (especially K-pop fans), but I can definitely see and appreciate that we are dealing with something amazing when we talk about Dimash.

Yes, Dimash does occasionally lipsync during his performances, and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. However, what many people don’t realize is the incredible amount of work he puts in behind the scenes. Dimash is responsible for about 90% of the production of his songs, meticulously overseeing every detail-from selecting the instruments and crafting melodies to find how the vocals and the lyrics should be to align perfectly with the music. He often spends up to 16 hours in the studio, fully immersed in the creative process. Beyond his own work, he also records for other producers, directs his concerts, and manages his band. Despite this overwhelming workload, Dimash typically sleeps only about 4 hours a day. Sometimes, Dimash flies on the same day as his concerts, performing at night for audiences in three-hour-long shows. Imagine the sheer dedication it takes to work for hours in the studio, rehearse for live performances, and direct his concert, and manages his band, then deliver a stunning concert. And even after finishing, he often heads back to the studio again or travels to another city to record a show. You might wonder why he pushes himself so much. The truth is, Dimash is an independent artist. To maintain his career and artistic freedom, he has to work harder rather than supported by agencies or companies. Some may question why he doesn’t sign with a big company. While Dimash has received numerous offers from top companies such as universal or sony or other companies..., a lot of people don't know that these companies control their artists’s lives and careers, sometimes forcing them into situations against their will. Dimash values his freedom and chooses this demanding path to stay true to himself and his art. All of this information comes from people who have worked with Dimash and from videos taken inside his recording studio that aren’t available online.

You can hear it's the same as the studio version but I had a friend who was probably a metre away from him when he was screaming those last notes and she said you could hear him, his real voice and she wasn't anywhere near a loud speaker. Btw one of his best concerts recently was in Dussledorf, he was at least 95% live vocals in that concert which lasted for an incredible 3 hours. It wasn't officially recorded but 4K fancams of incredible quality both audibly and visually were uploaded to the channel of Jimmy Ge. I'd be interested to see your reaction to some of those? What I find the most absurd is when people hate him for LS but then they also hate him for not hitting the notes exactly the same like he did in the previous version.. Like.. Dimash is a human being. What do you want? There was a concert in Hong Kong in 2023. It was a very special concert, a 7 year anniversary concert where he sang the song SOS in the same suit he sang it in the show where his international career kickstarted. Dimash‘s voice changed over the years and he doesn’t sing the high note of the song like he used to anymore. People were going mad! Saying he can’t sing anymore because he didn’t hit some highnote.. On top of that he was really sick. He was sick for months, his voice was really affected and instead of admiring he still did the 3 hour show and sang all our favorite songs, people love to criticize. That makes me very sad. In this concert he also started the track of a song earlier than usual because of that matter. And it’s fine! As you said, it probably frustrated him a lot to not be as good as he usually is.. But he just can’t be perfect all the time. And that’s fine. 🥲 I wish people would concentrate more on the efforts of him performing than what notes he hits or not 🙃

he definitely does sometimes and I think it has to do with two things, first some broadcasts actually demand lip sycing for some reason and two, in concerts, especially on tours that are around 2-3 hours he tends to have a mix of 50/50 when it comes to his hardest songs and I think he makes these choices to preserve his voice. I can actually understand this, he’s human after all and no body can handle all these vocal acrobatics for 3hrs. However i do think that people who claim everything is playback or fake are just trying to diminish his talent and hard-work when there are so many performances that are completely live & he still showcases his insane abilities

Thank you for the analysis. I'm starting a subscription. Personally, I'm that fan, who realizes that Dimash doesn't sing everything live. The reasons for such choices are clear and completely acceptable. Either they are imposed by producers, or they are aimed at protecting Dimash's voice. If Dimash sings some parts of his songs from a playback, it's not because he is unable to sing them live (and this is the case with a huge part of today's "singers" who are unable to sing live what they record in the studio). Every backing track, every note is sung by him. He has nothing to hide and doesn't have to prove anything to anyone. I've been to his concerts. 80% of it is live singing. You leave such a concert and don't know how to return to normal life, because your soul is torn from your body. Only someone who was there will understand what I'm talking about. It's good that he finally started protecting his unique voice. Thanks to this, we'll be able to listen to him for many years. Only the ignorant don't understand that singing in such a range (especially very high notes) is not healthy for his voice, and at a concert he has to sing over 20 very difficult songs. His concerts last over three hours. Most have no idea what an effort it is, especially since other singers sing only in one or two octaves, and Dimash in the full range of the piano. Instead of criticizing, appreciate this unimaginably wonderful voice of an extremely modest man whose only goal is to please his listeners.

I will add one more thing, the performances of today's "stars" whose songs do not exceed a two-octave vocal range (and this is also in the best case) are 90% not live and everyone knows this fact very well but no one says anything. He is exactly the one who should lip sync. Performing one of his songs requires more vocal abilities than performing a hundred song of "stars". Do you have any idea at all that what he does is really physically impossible? Singing for 4 hours in so many octaves (no matter how good your technique is) requires abnormal effort and people complain that out of 30 songs, 3 or 5 are not live? Even if it is half!! From a vocal point of view, singing high notes in one vocal register for 3 hours is already very tiring and he uses all three registers. I think today's world doesn't deserve a singer like him. The effort he puts into his songs, no matter how surprising it may seem, outweighs the success he's achieved a hundredfold.

You said some very interesting things about the techniques, and personally I'm very happy because a lot of people don't distinguish between edited video and lip sync, so I think you can see the difference. The recording of a live concert is subsequently edited by all musicians and singers, among other things, to filter out background noise or to give a better sound. I think it is better to entrust these things to a professional and not guess. Things about Dimash will always come up because it's so hard to believe what he's doing until you hear him live! He forgot the lyrics singing All By Myself in NY and the way he handle it was hilarious! He also had sound issues during SOS in Düsseldorf, you can see the relief on his face at the end, still he delivered a stunning performance. He broke laughing while singing Unforgettable Day in Prague (I was there) because something an audience member yelled at him, again, stunning performance.

What annoys me the most about what seems to be a witch hunt for Dimash at the moment is that there is not a singer alive at the moment who hasn't either lip synced or used auto tune. Especially singers like Rihanna or Taylor Swift and I'm not being derogatory but their songs are not exactly difficult to sing. Dimash doesn't have control over what happens on foreign tv shows and his schedule is crazy, so considering (as he's said many times) his vocal range on the day is dependent on a number of factors, how rested he is, if he's had time for proper practice etc or a proper rehearsal but he's literally flown in for one song and then flying straight out again it's obviously more practical. Dimash's voice is notoriously difficult to work with as a sound engineer, it's one of the main reasons he takes Erlan with him so often. He can't win whatever he does, if he alters a song to fit what his voice does on the day he gets criticised or people say he's losing his voice, if he tries to keep people happy by giving them what they're used to by using a playback version he's criticised for that too. I will say that I think he does it far less than people accuse him of, even I've been caught off guard when I've thought he was doing a lip synced performance but then suddenly I'll catch a subtle change or even a mistake and realise that he's actually singing live.

Thanks for this very interesting, fair and honest video. To me, this debate is nonsensical: we all know Dimash insane vocal skills (including through fans videos without a micro, or in spontaneous situations...) but beyond his extraordinary talent, wwhat is often overlooked in these discussions is something far more essential: Dimash's genuine love for singing: singing is at the very core of his life, and he thrives on performing for his audience. To suggest that he lip-syncs is to ignore the dedication, passion, and hard work that he pours into every performance. Regarding autotune, a vocal coach made an interesting video about it, and his conclusion is clear... kzbin.info/www/bejne/hmS9iWSBYp5spc0 I also read numerous comments about The Story of One Sky: I was in Prague and it was evident that the performance was live. Did he possibly lip-sync certain parts of the song (the vocalise part)? Perhaps. But honestly I don't care: every time I have seen him perform (4 times this year), I am completely moved, even to tears, overwhelmed by the intensity of his performaces, the passion he pours into every song. He is an incredible performer, the ultimate one, the best vocalist of our time and an truly beautiful soul: it is a dishearting to see some people attempt to tarnish the reputation of such an extraordinary human being. He has truly changed my life, I consider him as the guardian of my mental health, always there to lift me during challenging times and giving me joy or serenity on ordinary days, and I have an endless gratitude for the privilege of witnessing such an extraordinary talent live.

Very good video. There are so many haters and trolls who dedicate their life to hating Dimash (because he is good, popular and successful?) They spam everywhere trying to "prove" that he is lipsynching. This resulted in a counter reaction by some Dears who go around getting mad if anyone dares to suggest that he is lipsynching, so don't take personally people who get mad at the idea that Dimash is lipsynching. I just don't get why people are so obsessed with this topic. I wish people stopped arguing and hating artists all the time. I Just spend energy listening to whoever I like and let others enjoy their favorite artists in peace. My philosophy on lipsynching is that: 1) The game of trying to prove if someone sings live or not is almost pointless. Unless something drastic happens, like a singer dropping their mic and the song still goes on, it's really hard to prove that someone is live or not. There is sound editing in official recordings, or times when the artist sings live multiple times and they make cuts and editing all the different recordings together later. There are performances were artist might only lipsynch some parts of the song while the rest of it is live. On the other hand, someone singing a version that is completely different doesn't prove that the performance is live either. There are artists who record "live" version and then lipsynch to that. 2) Singers are humans (yes, including Dimash) They can get sick, or have a bad day and not be able to perform at their very best. Cancelling a concert last minute can also disappoint fans who might have spent a lot of money on tickets and travelling to see the artist. No one will enjoy a fully lipsynched concert, but sometimes cutting out few high notes or specific difficult songs is a compromise a sick artists needs to have. 3) Live evens can be more expensive, Dimash is invited to perform where he and his team are not in charge. (and refusing every event just because they can't afford him singing live is not the best choice for his career lol) But in order for Dimash to sing live, the event needs to meet his technical rider. It's not about being picky or spoiled. Cheap mic and speakers just can't handle is range. On top of that live performance often means that Dimash needs to bring and pay his personal team, especially his sound producer. Can you imagine someone who doesn't know him and his crazy vocal acrobatics being put on the spot to figure out everything that needs to happen during his performance in the 20-ish minutes soundcheck they have?

Thank you for doing this video. I’m so tired of people negatively judging Dimash. I appreciate how you’ve explained how you can see and hear that he is singing live. Just in case people don’t know, Dimash practices a minimum of 3 hours a day. He says that if he didn’t practice for 2 days, it’s like not practicing for 5 days and if he misses 3 days he feels like he hasn’t practiced for a week. He follows the advice of his idols, when you can you practice with a vocal coach every day.

I don't understand why, but Dimash was hated from the beginning of his career. Even in his own country, because he did most of his songs his way, and not the way conservatives wanted. Since then, some of these people have even accepted Dimash's choices. When he collaborated with I. Krutoy and performed in this country, a huge number of artists or so-called critics also negated everything about Dimash. A certain opera singer was picking on literally everything, every movement, every facial expression, and because he was popular, his statements were played on the radio, TV and in interviews. I think these are malcontents who are constantly dissatisfied with life and have no talents, and specialize in undermining other people's talents. Dimash has in-ear monitors, so it's definitely playback, Dimash doesn't have in-ear monitors, so it's definitely playback. Singing in this country is definitely playback, singing in that country is definitely playback. One thing is for sure, there are countries where after performing live in front of an audience they improve the performance, edit it (it has its own name), and then post such improved performances on official channels. And their quality depends on the taste and skills of the sound engineer. In the past, this nitpicking was sewn together by groups of threads, now these are more calculated methods like I like Dmash, but... or veiled and less eye-catching information. There is only one conclusion, since these people who negate everything have learned to give bad information in such a veiled way, it means that their life goal is criticism and they are constantly educating themselves in this direction.

Grazie, hai fatto un bel video. Realistico. ❤

Dimash has been interviewed and has been asked if he has lip synched and he has always been very open and honest. He has said that although he always prefer to sing, there are times when he has had to lip synch, in some venues and performances he is not given the option. This happens in some countries more often than not such as in Russia, sometimes in China and several other countries. His concerts are usually 3 hours long and he can sing live shows in Europe and the US. You will hear him make changes to his songs so people know he’s singing live and if you’re lucky enough to have seats close to the stage you’ll actually feel the power of his voice. I’ve literally felt some of the notes he sings penetrate my body. I’ve heard some opera singers say that is due to his classical (bel canto) training.

Thank you for your reaction, i listened to a bunch of your songs. I liked them. Meantime it is very difficult to be independent. The comments that we see in Radit most of them just come from. People with no knowledge of the subjrct. Maybe they are some jealous or negative people, unfortunately. Some of them say you can't sing like that if you are on a tour for days or weeks. The thing is, Dimash doesn't go on a tour. He sings for only one or 2 days, and on the day of the show, he doesn't soeak all day in order for his vocal cords to rest. He practiced 4 to 6 hours a day for 25 years. He ate certain foods and exercises for his long capacity. He breathes music. He is an independent artist just like you. Some people criticized him maybe because he is very young and polite and musically educated. Maybe because he is a very good-looking man 😉 or maybe because of his country and religion 🤔 😕 But all together, he is a very talented singer, very polite, respectful, and kind individual

Dimash é o maior cantor do nosso tempo! 👑

Thanks for this review. In every concert, when Dimash performes The story of one sky, he sings differently two verses at the beginning of the song, and starting from vocalize it sounds absolutely identical. The only time exception is his concert in Armenia 29.04.2023. But anyway every time it is unforgettable performance, giving audience stunning emotions! And I think you would like new rocky song called Fire. Dimash performed this song at his recent concerts. Here you can find differences in performing this song in various concerts, I like these fancams: First time he performed this song in his concerts in Kazakhstan 13-14.09.2024, I like these fancams: Astana day 1 (13.09.2024) - Dimash was dressed in maroon firey suit, like a rock singer. 1.1) horizontal wide view of all scene from the parterre (high quality fancam) kzbin.info/www/bejne/f3vFpXiaoMiXmqssi=5wAir93VSe5PnsOp 1.2) vertical close-up view kzbin.info/www/bejne/hJK9gGqKls2hrNksi=mgD-vH2xiSEt_r6x Astana day 2 (14.09.2024) - it was like epic Marvel movie with totally different visual show of this song. This version was very surprising =D Before the beginning of the song, dark dancers in masks dressed like assassins stole Dimash from the scene and 1 minute later the song started. Audience was a little bit worried at this period of time)) I prefer these fancams: 2.1) horizontal wide view of all scene from the parterre (high quality fancam) and you can see steel moment at this fancam kzbin.info/www/bejne/p5_MoZuvqKt6d80si=6Te07o4xJHTB8l_X 2.2) vertical close-up view with some wide view episodes kzbin.info/www/bejne/hpe2oWSOZt-tha8si=566R-8cTa9VjsY1J 3) The most recent concert where Dimash performed this song is Dusseldorf concert 24.11.2024 (high quality fancam): kzbin.info/www/bejne/rHbcYaCaedd1Z7csi=_1IQjEi2ykP4_sIn Now Dimash became a real rock star!

Dimash often stops in different places of various songs, to let the audience sing along, so that would be live. I’ve been to five Dimash concerts and quite close to the stage. To be honest I think the middle yodelling bit in One Sky is lip synched as it is the same every time. I don’t mind at all. One Sky is such an important project for Dimash, he wants it to be the best it can be, And if I have to choose between having a two hour totally live concert or three hours with a bit of lip synch, I know which I’d choose. Dimash has often been asked to sing on the spot and the guy can sing. Thank you for your insight.

What many don’t understand is that Dimas is not only a purist but lip-synching, while common in western culture is not the norm, and certainly not in Kazakhstan - he is a young man of character and integrity, and is honest in everything - there is a 9 part series on him- check out the episode of him in concert where he is caught off guard by a fan and doubles over laughing and then resumes singing and there is a clip where he had no audio to his inner ears and despite his staff working on it,they didn’t get it solved and there is no way to fake that

Thanks for doing this video! The Ogni Pietra (Olimpico) was a live broadcast. It was actually the 2019 European Games. It was a huge production with laser lights and dancers. And note this is the song he won Best Classical Vocalist of the Year for at the Russian Victoria Awards (their Grammies) There are a lot of trolls on the internet after Dimash because some people want to tear down someone to make themselves feel better. In TV broadcast in China and Russian he usually sings on top of a backing track or he sings it live and the producers will lay his rehearsal on top of the Live performance when it is uploaded to their website. He has no control of that

Nearly always Chinese & Russian television shows require lipsyncing so the show meets the strict time segment requirements. Dimash has talked about this in interviews. It is something he doesn't like to do, but as he says, it's part of modern nusic production. I know professional music singers & producers who have seen him up close in concert & they are amazed at how he sings the many difficult songs in his song list and keeps his voice healthy. People are often not accustomed to seeing/hearing highly trained vocal technicians, and Dimash is about as fine tuned as it gets. The musical stars of the 1970's didn't have auto-tune & other tools to make music "perfect" which can be lifeless and boring. The digital world has taken a lot of the human soul out of popular music. Best wishes to you & your band as you work in the modern music industry. You are a great vocalist and artist.

He has on occasion if there is a studio audience present sung knowing they would over dub it with the studio version. But fans are present so he sings. Dimash does lip sync parts of songs in concert or sings harmony or main part while backing tracks are used. Anyone that thinks he doesn’t is crazy. He sings for 3 to 4 hours per concert. I am sure he decides where his voice should rest to preserve it for the entire concert. However, the high notes are easy for him so most of them are live. Anything where it looks like he is obviously lip syncing. Most likely he was singing live and they dubbed over. If he does lip sync most likely you can’t tell. The amount of jealousy and hate some of those people give Dimash is sickening. What has he done to ever inspire the negativity he gets other than being amazing at what he does? Small-minded people who will never get anywhere in life (including here on KZbin) seem to thrive on envy and negativity and do their utmost to tear him down. Glad you are not like that. You are realistic and speaking from a position of knowledge which few of us possess. I downloaded your video. I think it’s required viewing to refute the Dimash haters. One of the worst aspects of the internet is the proliferation of trolls. BTW, I will be checking out your music. I watched until the end. Excellent!

By the way: I suggested once that you should DEFINITELY do what another reactor is doing: Every week, he reacts to his Almaty Concert from 2 years ago. It will ALL BLOW YOUR MIND. The Story of One Sky and the song that comes after, El Amor En Ti, is incredible. It is posted on here in 3 sections. The way he performs will leave you speechless.

In the top 5 list of songs, #2 is Sinful Passion. On that video, at the 2 min, 57 sec mark, while he's singing, you can literally see his tongue fluttering in his mouth. He's certainly not lip-syncing that song.

Great answer and completely agree with this statement. Lipsync or not, it doesn't matter!!! he is still my favorite singer in the world

Its interesting to see who thinks about whether Dimash does lip sync. It must be clear to everyone that every singer has to resort to it sometimes, whether its instructions, obligations that have to be met despite illnes, etc. Unfortunately, it has become the norm these days to rework some performances, even by people who can actually sing - yes they still exist. Im not interested in the,, too good to be true,, think. People like to projekt... if they themselves cant do certain things or need help, they transfer this onto others, they assume that it must be the same for others as it is for them. I will continue to listen to his music and enjoy his great concerts without worrying about whether he sings everything live during a tree to four hour concert.

A person who has studied music for 25 years, graduated in classical and contemporary singing, has a master's degree in composition and is finishing a doctorate in musicology DOES NOT NEED TO RESORT TO LIPSYNC!!!

Watch the video, instead of reacting to the clickbait title. LOL.

Yes he does. The fact that sometimes singer have to lip sync does not mean they are bad singers. I do NOT get this mindset at all. Why do people think that?? Dancers who have danced since they were very young, usually retire in their thirties because it puts a toll on their bodies and they can't keep up anymore. Because they overwork their bodies. It is similar with singers. Don't we want Dimash to do this for as long as he possibly can? Then he has to take care of his voice and give it a break sometimes. Singing for over 3 hours can overwork your throat. We don't want Dimash to get laryngitis. 🤞😬. So Id rather him lip sync some of his songs. He's still the greatest singer in the world, so who cares??

Dimash can't even be compared to other regular singers. He is Amazing and One of a Kind.

I expect your reaction will be fair based on your other reactions to Dimash. Yes, I think Dimash lip syncs occasionally but I don’t think it’s anywhere at the level his (jealous) detractors claim. I just watched some concert performances where it’s obvious that he’s singing live because everything isn’t flawless but he still sounds fantastic. His concerts are crazy long - if he lip syncs at times in order to rest his voice or if he’s not feeling great, frankly I don’t mind one bit because the fact is, *he* is the one the lip syncing performance originates from. I wish I could watch this now because checking in at 3 a.m. might not work out very well.😬Don’t be surprised if people start leaving comments after they’ve only watched for a few minutes. I think fans (or trolls for that matter) react emotionally more often than not.🤷♀️

That’s alright and I understand why they would, but after I got 100s of comments criticizing him I wanted to just put it all out there for one of the greatest vocalists of all time! I got you!!!
