Wringinanom 2017

The Wringinanom South lines are the preserve of the small diesels. The track is in appalling condition but the train crews are expert at re-railing cane lori2 and getting the cane to the mill. It's my favourite sugar mill that still uses its field lines (and there are only 4-5 left). Every season could be the last for field trains but as far as I know, they were still used for the 2020 season.

It's very sad to see the fact that the diamond crossing of the Wringinanom sugar factory railway and the Panarukan Line (stretching from Kalisat to Panarukan) near Tribungan station is now part of the past, though surprisingly both the barriers for temporarily stopping sugarcane lorries and the special mechanical signals for indicating the condition of that diamond crossing is still intact as of today. Thankfully the Panarukan Line has been included as part of disused lines slated for reactivation by the government, though currently it is still in planning stages (and even it is still not clear whether the diamond crossing would be completely revived or not)...

Yeah, it's true. Although the scene where trains from and to Panarukan passed through that diamond crossing and met the sugarcane trains of Wringinanom sugar factory is now part of the past, with the plans for reactivating the Kalisat to Panarukan line there is a possibility that the diamond crossing would returns back into its heydays (though I doubt whether the sugarcane railways of Wringinanom sugar factory would be still active when the Kalisat to Panarukan is fully reopened to rail traffic or not)...
