After crashing a motorcycle and injuring his wrist a few years ago, Jamie explains why he is now going under the knife and getting surgery on his broken Scaphoid.

Get well soon Jamie, I had the exact same injury. Broke my scaphoid which resulted in a non union and had the fixation screw surgery a year after the initial injury. My surgeon prescribed an ultra sound bone growth stimulator and installed a port in my cast. The recovery is long but the surgery is worth it, my range of motion & grip strength are back to normal. You'll be back on the bike in no time!

Gosh Jamie, I can remember the video of that particular crash. To think you've had this problem for so long is unbelievable. I know the feeling, as you explained about early arthritis. As a sufferer of this condition myself, it is more of a constant discomfort rather than a terrible pain. I'm sure, like so many more of your followers will be keeping my fingers crossed (in theory for me as my hands aren't that supple anymore) haha, that this surgery goes well. I'm looking forward to see what new content you bring, and certainly will be with you all the way. I tell my wife that no washing dishes and not using a vacum cleaner is good for my hands, hips, knees and feet 😂😂.

10 bikes owned now, Live in Utah, I been watching MotoGeo 6 or 7 years. Love all manufacturers. Riding in Japan was the best. IOM 2004 a highlight of my riding life. Fan at Daytona 200 over a week ago. Moab trail riding in April. Idaho or Colorado this summer. Used to love burgers but I think I aged out of them but enjoy your burger reviews. I had 3 years of Shoulder pain from not taking it EZ with a torn rotator cuff. I let it heal over 5 months and finally no pain. Let that wrist bone heal we need you.

I broke it while skateboarding and didn’t realize it until a few months later when I wanted to see what’s causing the constant pain now and then. I didn’t undergo any surgery it’s been 2 years now and I don’t even notice the difference. I hope you recover soon and get back to riding.

Jamie, best wishes, I'm such a fan of yours for yours and you have inspired me to ride a lot and to adventure with my bike. I've had a few surgeries myself for many fractures haha but the therapy afterwards is the most important thing. You can have the best surgery but if you don't do the exercises and what the doctors tell you... the have to do everything all over again, believe me, that was my case :(

Just had surgery in August 23. Screw didn't work and to use cadaver bone and replace it. Removed a length of tendon from arm drilled hole and used the tendon to tie it all together. Worked,but now I have nerve issues because they stretched my nerve to get at bone. Oh well. Good news is I did 336 miles in a day and no issues. Good luck Jamie.

Sorry to hear. I broke mine too landing a wheelie on my Hayabusa - nasty bike this. I got a screw installed and my wrist is back to 99% of previous function. mine was repaired right away however. Good luck, fast healing.

I fractured the triquetral bone in my left wrist 3 years ago when I dropped my motorcycle after snagging my glove on the hose clamp stopping my heated throttle grip from rotating (long story; apparently they are supposed to be glued). A few weeks later I slipped while hiking and fractured the scaphoid in the same wrist. I lost an entire riding season. 😕

What a sentence for a biker😐 i hope you find a way to ride something motorised to feel the freedom somehow.could be an idea to do an episode on impaired bikers.i know of an one armed english guy that still races....i'm sure you'll figure something out. I'd suggest going carnivore diet during the recovery stage, red meat plus inflammation avoidance should aid in recovery. I went over the bars last year and switched to carnivore to aid in recovery, fixed me up right quick.
