Thank you so much. I have zero experience writing, let alone much reading. I have an idea I’d love to put to paper in some way and am just beginning the journey at this moment. I also just joined your FB group and look forward to opening a few new adventures :)

Quite insightful, Niki. Those were some truly helpful tips. I just joined The Write Group on Facebook as well.

As an avid reader, I really appreciate short chapters. It may be purely psychological, but with short chapters, I know I can pick up and read a bit when I have a quick break during the day or when I'm waiting in the dentist's office or having my tires rotated. There's something unsettling about having to stop mid-chapter especially if there are always cliff-hangers at the ends of chapters. This is not to say I won't read books with long chapters, but I try to keep that in mind when I'm writing.

I really like short chapters too. Perhaps I'll do a video on that at some point

I'm a good writer both poems and novels, but as you can tell, I need help in the process. But I'm plugging along.

Neil Gaiman spoke (briefly) about the hero's journey during a Q&A session at Google.

How strange just a reread of the hero with a thousand faces today.
