Hi there, really helpful video so thank you for this. I have a quick question - in terms of the relevant experience reference, my current employer is not a clinical psychologist, however my supervisor in my previous service was and also I am currently conducting research outside of my full-time job with a clinical psychologist. Do you suggest I use one of these clinical psychologists as my reference, or use my current employer who is a senior psychological wellbeing practitioner? Any guidance on this would be really helpful, thanks!

Hi Becky, I’m glad it helps! Oooo it’s tough - you absolutely could use either but I think I’d probably go with one of the CPs, as long as they will provide you a good reference :) You will also need to explain why it isn’t your current templates is the relevant section :)

Hi Holly, I can’t thank you enough for making this video it’s so so helpful! I do have a quick question- in the second question around dissemination, when you say add the reference- do you mean the full reference in APA (Including title, journal etc) or do you just mean the citation (x and y, 2020)? Also are we required to reflect on our dissemination in this section or mainly just describe/list it? Thanks so much xx

Hiya - I would say just the citation and the title should be fine if you explain what the project was and how you contributed. You could also do a full reference including the journal, but the DOI isn’t needed :) This section is less reflective and more about what you did, I would say :)

I'm applying for EP for the 3rd time and CP for the 1st time. How did you deal with having to ask your references again? I'm feeling bad asking them to complete those forms for me again this year :-/

It's tricky isn't it?! For me it was a case of biting the bullet and just asking again! And apologising, although I'm sure they won't mind!

I have put information about my career change and lived experience in the first question as I think these experiences have given me the skills I need to become a trainee. Is this OK do you think?

Yeah this will probably be OK as long as you are answering the question "how does this experience make you a better candidate for training?" :) Otherwise, the last section may be best to talk about those experiences. Best of luck!

I noticed that in your points that your wrote about for question 1 didn't mention clinical skills relating to assessment, formulation and intervention, how did you manage to fit this in? thank you, this is a great video!
