Mob is so well written that I forget about his strength. Its not even the focus of the story. His social akwardness, drive to impress his childhood crush, his innocence and cute interactions. Mob is just lovable. When Tsubomi rejected him, I felt so bad for him. (But I also understand Tsubomi, she has barely seen Mob in years and is going away to another city although that hardly matters to Mob) I wish we got to see what happens after that. Which just shows how good the characters are that we want to know thier lives even if its mundane.

Saitama is really underrated as a character. Not only does he symbolize depression, but he's also very kind, accepting people for who they are easily. He has moments of wisdom or simple decency that reveal a genuinely good person beneath his seemingly careless exterior. The people that are starting to surround him aren't just attracted by his power. To King, he is a great friend who he can be honest with. To Genos, he's the ultimate embodiement of heroism. Even Fubuki, Tatsumaki and Fang are starting to see that there's more to this guy than meets the eye.
@ZackSNetwork5 ай бұрын
Saitama is by no means an underrated character. He is heavily well known in the anime community and even normies know what OPM is. Annoying how you choose to go the route of drawing Saitama as underrated and as some deep character when he really isn’t. That was never even the point of Saitama to begin with. In reality he is just an average guy that just became a hero and is bored because he is to strong to enjoy a decent fight.

Saiki is a good candidate and example for the strongest archetype-a fusion of Mob and Saitama. He knows he’s the most powerful person in his world, yet his upbringing made it so that he doesn’t use it for nefarious means. He tries to hide his powers because he wants to live a normal life, which is usually the other way around in these types of scenarios: a normal person becoming powerful.

@euro.steppp5 ай бұрын
@@kite1704 He actually has more depth than you think. The reason the Red games are easy is a way to help the player experience just how far exceptionally stronger he was in comparison to his opponents. Red has always been a quiet character, with his only line being "...", the reason as to this is because he had nobody that could relate to him, so he doesn't know how to communicate with others, but there was one thing he loved, Pokémon. Red loved battling and catching Pokémon, so he sets out to become the greatest trainer the world has ever seen, has a grand adventure, and takes down a criminal organization while he was at it. And when Red finally became the greatest, he lost the one thing he loved so much, Battling. He was vastly superior to everyone he faced, and every Pokémon he faced. There was no longer any excitement to catching new Pokémon, because his Pokedex was already complete, he knew every Pokémon in Kanto. What he loved became his greatest curse, and drove him even deeper into loneliness. Eventually he leaves for Mount Silver, where he stays, waiting for someone able to challenge him. And Red being on Mt. Silver is truly the ultimate representation of, "lonely at the top".

I think another great "Strongest" character is Mash from Mashle. He's so strong he completely changes how people view those with no magic, and is pretty much never in danger from an opponent. However, he wants to change how his society handles people who don't have magic, as his world basically works by eugenics rules. So it's another case of a good person doing what's right because they have the strength to do it, and it's the right thing to do.

I'm not going to watch the full video because I simply just don't have the time, but I don't think mob is supposed to be written as the strongest, unlike Saitama mob's growth throughout the show is him learning how to accept the fact he's different, on the other hand Saitama is a story about being on the top, how he doesn't face any challenges, I'm sure you know this and you just wanted to bring up both of these brilliant works, but I think mob doesn't symbolize the strongest, he symbolizes an awkward young man getting through life, anyway until next time.

I think mob is super well written. One quality about super powers is regulating them. If i had super strength at like birth, then i would need to gain control over it to make sure i don't fk things up. So the reason mob is self expressing his emotions, or regulating them is because he believes that there is a connection between his emotional state and his power. Thats why mob going 100% is a thing... mob just not wanting to regulate his emotions and just unleashing is powers. Thats why the last battle between him and toichorou, he could actually unleash his powers, and that probably felt good. Releasing pent up emotions and it not just killing his opponent immendiately. Plus, another aspect is his connection with the dead. The ability to see spirits. Since he had this ability since he was young, to him a spirit is the same level of importance as a human. He knows the difference, but he places equal importance on both. Thats why when there was a episode where mob was "forced" to choose between the spirits and humans when some guys were telling him to exorcise spirits in a haunted house. But the house just contained a family of spirits who were harmeless. Since the guys were telling him to "kill" the spirits, and mob sees them both as the same thing, he chose to flip the script and just say why don't i just kill you guys instead? I thought that was a brilliant scene. Showing the nuance over the fact that mob doesn't see the difference spirits and humans, and so when he is forced to choose between one or the other, he can just choose either or without really differentiating them. This is something only someone like mob would understand.

Strongly disagree on Saitama being over powered done right. Saitama is literally a parody on the idea of being a powerful character. He always shows up when ever the story needs him to and always wins regardless. OPM doesn’t do anything innovative nor change the problem just makes a joke out of it.

"Parody". Lmao Saitama is a deconstruction of the OP MC archetype. He is truly an overpowered character (following multiple approaches to this trope) yet fails miserably at other aspects as a human, that is emotions. Start of the show he used to smile and get pissed off sometimes, but the more time goes on and the more time he spends with others Saitama is exposed to those various emotions that makes him human. He also is made to realised his Hypocrisy of being a hero. Also, parody is a joke made over something. Like Gintama. OPM is much different.
@AaaAaa-wl8ob5 ай бұрын
Of course he’ll always win, that’s the entire cause of his depression. I don’t think you have even stopped to think about the first season of OPM. You are focusing on the wrong aspect of his character. You’re trying to view him like any other shonen character, such as luffy or goku, but their problems don’t apply to saitama. From the beginning of the story, it’s made clear that saitama is struggling with keeping his humanity intact. Please rewatch or reread the series, because you’ve clearly misunderstood what OPM is.
