Hey guys! Here's the final version of this project! Hope you enjoy what we came up with! kzbin.info/www/bejne/mXmtp5iai5eNZpY
@AaHo01024 жыл бұрын
It really shows how your "standards" for what's good change when you gain more technical proficiency in an instrument. Being an ok guitarist at best here, I watch you noodle around and in the first 5 minutes you play more than enough badass shit to have a solo, but you keep chugging along with the ideas man. This is easily the best video you've done imo.
@christophercastro24894 жыл бұрын
Some of the best songs such as deftones change are simple it's more the music the soul should always strive for better but you shouldnt beat yourself up over it keep pushing, practicing writing and playing dudes

Dean Lamb you are way too humble lol In just 15 minutes, you seriously had so many great ideas that would work with the song, yet you somehow managed to make it *that much* better

This was one of my favourites off of this album. I learned it some years ago with We Bow in it's Aura and It's Torn Away (Though, if I'm honest, We Bow was a sloppy cover as my playing sucked back then). So cool to hear some nice solo ideas over it. Will definitely check out the final piece. :)

@kaizuey4 жыл бұрын
Love that song
@danielnelson48814 жыл бұрын
It actually did for me as well. I'm a VERY amateur guitarist who has been playing on and off for a LOT of years... Many many "off" at this point right now... My problem is that I can play some really hard shit that would make an expert guitar player impressed probably... But only because I've been playing so long and learned songs I thought sounded good. I have ZERO theory or any kind of knowledge at all. I mean I'm about as noob of a guitarist as one can be while still saying they play guitar... Yet I try to tell someone who doesn't play the guitar that and they just laugh at me and think I'm being humble.. It's like no dude I'm really not, I promise you I suck ass at the guitar hahah. Anyway though my interest in playing the simple shit that I NEED to play to learn and actually become better.. Is little to none. I moved past the learning chords (I don't know almost any chords, just a couple basics if I remember what they are even called) and playing Metallica's entire discography the better part of a decade ago.. I want to play more complex shit and sweep pick.. Which I can do, I have the playing ability.. The fingers. The picking.. To do that stuff. But learning this kind of shit he's playing from TABS? Not really something that works, at least for me.. When the song makes sense to me I can pick it up easily sometimes.. But I am so far from having the technical knowledge and theory I need to play and learn to play at the level my "technique" (I think?) is at that I just get bored and never progress.. I'm sorry I've never tried to explain to anyone why I haven't picked up my guitar in like 5 years. You just happened to be in the crossfire for this tangent! Anyway it sucks and I'll probably forever be a total noob and suck at the guitar because I never took it seriously enough over the many years I've played.. Of course being a drug addict for a lot of those years didn't help either but I digress.. Haha, I don't think I can ever go back to playing Mary had a little lamb kind of crap to learn the theory. Even though in all actuality I'm on par as a guitar player with people playing things at that level lol. Did this make any sense if you made it this far?
@danielnelson48814 жыл бұрын
But yeah Conquer and actually quite a few other songs from Id really helped my picking hand immensely. Like the song resistance as well is another one that stands out to me.
@ashoggoth24194 жыл бұрын

@traveandre88774 жыл бұрын
7:50 is that tapped string skipping? (idk how to call it)
@bigsnacks9134 жыл бұрын
Yup looks like it, since you don't have the ability to roll your finger over to fret the start of the next string's tapping sequence (depending on the size of your fingers and how far you're looking to skip) you hammer on the first note of the next string a little harder than you usually would since you're hammering onto an open string. Slow the vid down and try it out!
@twokidsmovies4 жыл бұрын
Hey dean I would love to see you try and write a breakdown riff like veil of maya (examples like the groove here in this video or their songs crawl back and unbreakable). I love the off time and weird patterns and would like to see you come up with one
