Hi Ray. How would you convert these Anki questions into clozed questions - and then what do you do when you have to type the answer into Anki - how would you do the sub and superscript? Thanks

can you do a video on cramming? I know you don’t cram but any advice for learning stuff as quickly as possible
@RAmjad3 жыл бұрын
Hi, I don't really cram so I'm not sure how useful the advice I can offer is as I haven't tried it myself. The closest I have to a video on cramming is this one which I used to help me with mock revision a few times when mocks were pretty close: kzbin.info/www/bejne/kInTXpiBmM2KfsU I hope that strategy kinda helps!

Hi, when using the inline Mathjax, are we able to put multiple numbers in superscript. For example 10^22. Thanks for the video!!!
@RAmjad3 жыл бұрын
Hi, if you want to put multiple things in the superscript then you can use 10^{22}. The { } are useful to enclosing anything if it doesn't seem to be working properly

Is there a reason why I can't use LaTex? It says there is an error...
@RAmjad3 жыл бұрын
So MathJax should work on both desktop and mobile because it uses a Javascript library to render the maths. But if you want to use LaTeX then you're going to have to download a LaTeX compiler such as MikTex (if you're using Windows). You can read more about it here: docs.ankiweb.net/#/math?id=latex#/math?id=latex#/math?id=latex There is no major difference between using MathJax and using LaTeX. I suggest you go for the former unless you have a very specific case to use LaTeX (such as you want to create tables in LaTeX or something which you can't really do with Mathjax). I hope that helps!

Can you make a video on the best add ons as well as how to make good gcse cards, what to include in cards and how to fix issues such as adding too much content in a card
@RAmjad3 жыл бұрын
Sure! That sounds like a great idea. As a quick answer, my favourite add on is a heatmap one which shows how much progress you're making and one that changes the colour of the buttons to red, yellow and green ( see ankiweb.net/shared/info/1771074083 and ankiweb.net/shared/info/2494384865 ). As for too much content, I usually try to stick to one concept / piece of information per flashcard but I discuss it in more detail in an upcoming video 🚀

You should give credit to where you got the equation editor from. I saw someone else do it first in that exact website
@RAmjad3 жыл бұрын
You mean CodeCogs equation editor? I've been using it for the last 5 years or so (even before using Anki) so I never knew others used it but it's a great and intuitive website so I can see why they would

we are predetermined by our genes and environment (your genes cock the gun and your environment pulls the trigger) , agree or disagree?
@RAmjad3 жыл бұрын
I agree to an extent. I'll just split my answer into two: looks and intelligence. But there are many other possibilities. Of course, if you're born with good looks then it's going to easier for you to become a model or actor/actress or something. It's just a matter of landing your lucky break which does come down to your environment. Although, you may still have your growth stunted if you were malnourished growing up. For intelligence, I read in a book that there are 8 or 9 types - not sure how much this is based on research but I do believe there are many forms. If we go for the most general case of logical/mathematical intelligence which is most directly related to school then I don't believe your genes play a role but your environment does play a large role. If you went to say a fiercely competitive grammar school then you're more likely to improve your lateral thinking abilities to answer even harder maths-based questions than if you were to an underperforming school where few people care about doing well academically. It's a motivator in a sense. But I think the biggest factor in terms of environment is the country you're born up in. The difference in the level of opportunities the average person gets between say the UK and Pakistan are absolutely massive. I was fortunate enough to come to the UK at an early age (for which I'm incredibly grateful) and have had so many more opportunities in life than my cousins back home. Fortunately, resources like the internet are breaking down some of these barriers - especially in regards to education because it doesn't matter a whole lot if your teachers aren't good. You can find plenty of free and fantastic videos on KZbin and Khan Academy no matter where you are provided you have a computer and internet connection. So I remain hopeful as more communities around the world get connected to the internet. Hopefully, that provides an insight into my perspective. By the way, great questions! I really like answering them
