King’s renowned Foundation Year Program (FYP) provides an exceptional intellectual foundation for students who want a broad-based education or who are interested in a humanities or social science, journalism, science, or music undergraduate degree. The unique structure of the program allows students to really become immersed in ideas, learn how to write exceptionally well, and get into meaningful conversations with friends and professors.
The curriculum is designed around spending a full year of reading great books together. The syllabus moves forward chronologically from the ancient to the contemporary world, exposing you to important works in philosophy, history, literature, drama, and the natural and social sciences that shaped, and were shaped by, the time period.
