I look forward to your talk on multiple characters! I definitely need it because that is how I tend to write and I frequently hear "too many characters".

I'm working up some stuff about this topic - but a lot of my most useful thoughts will start from the ideas in these two videos: Building Character Arcs - kzbin.info/www/bejne/hp7KinR4et2DbpY and Screenwriting Essentials: Character - kzbin.info/www/bejne/j3bKmYunZdecnq8

Hi Glenn! Thanks a lot for your video. I watched on delay but very carefully, because I always learned something that will help me in your channel. With the topic you made me remember the movie "Last Action Hero", in which this phrase is mentioned in two scenes. They always said it to refer to the character played by F. Murray Abraham... who was called "Practice". 😄😄Greetings!

Fascinating! I had forgotten most of that movie, I haven't seen it in decades. I really appreciate you checking out the videos (in whatever way is best for you!) and your supportive comments!

I totally missed the reference on this livestream and thought it was about industry talk. So I skipped it. Anyways, I'm currently down 2 out of 8 chapters and 1 out of 7 side stories on the current novel I'm working on. I just found out that all the years I've spent creating unfinished stories helped me in story planning or whatever it's called. I find joy in finding out that I have to do experimental writing forms on most of my side stories. The one side story I just finished was written completely as the main character's inner thoughts. My original thought was to use this form as and indirect means to convey the self-centered nature of this character. Then I figure I might as well put a twist at the end and make it that the whole story was actually what was read by a mind reader when they read the main character's mind. I love it. Can't wait to have a second pass at the story as I now know what kind of embellishments I should add to it. I started to get interested in the whole works that I forgot the whole novel was actually a practice piece. A practice on finishing a literary works. A practice piece and an ammunition for an even bigger practice of cutting a good deal with the Ebenezers and the Scrooges of the industry. Anyway, I tried writing while listening to your livestream. It doesn't work that well for me. Stay safe. May happiness and health be with you always, and I'm going back to my writing.

Sounds like you're learning a lot, as you go - which is a great way to learn! And same for me: I can't listen to podcasts or talk stuff while I'm working. Music or nothing :)

@writingforscreens Absolutely. I just wish I was this hungry for sharpening my tools a decade earlier.

Hi Glenn, just wanna say, I hope that you are OK. I hope the L.A fire doesn't affect you too much. Keep safe.

Thank you - we are not threatened by fire damage, just coping with our shaken city and our many friends who lost everything. A good reminder to carpe diem.
