ABOUT THIS CHANNEL:
We, Nicholas Clark and Marlon Watts started this clothing brand with 12 t-shirts ($120). We turned those t-shirts into an apparel empire. After graduating college, we decided to step into our clothing company full-time. We created this KZbin channel to show the journey of building a brand. We create behind-the-scenes vlogs so you can see the life behind running a successful clothing brand. We also feature other clothing lines, streetwear brands, or any entrepreneur looking to create a clothing brand startup business.

VERY TRUE. Build a brand first or you’ll fail. Prime example, a celebrity could write they name on the shirt while you spend 2,000 hours designing a shirt and they’ll outsell you. You’d be lucky to sell 5.

I don’t think that’s the point of the video. T-shirts 100% sell. Just like any other clothing product. But what makes it sell is not the T-shirt alone. It’s everything else that comes with it in terms of the brand. If not in terms of unique style then in terms of What’s the story behind the brand? Do you have a built reputation? Are there incentives for buying from your brand over the other? Etc

Man I have been doing merchandising for over 25 years. Have moved a lot of product. However, after the pandemic it has never been so hard to sell, because EVERYONE has a tshirt line and no one needs another tee shirt. What you guys are selling is a mindset and people will want to support its a purchase or too. BUT This pod is dope. Salute.

This is so false lol. I have so many brothers that have their own brand from ages 19-25 all bringing in at least 5 figures a month. Everyone needs clothes. No one is gonna not need clothes and idk what your age is but my generation literally runs the streetwear community.

Thank you for this video. I have been experimenting so much with editing, talking to the camera, being comfortable with the camera in my face, and posting content all over social media. I know this is just the beginning of something great. Little by little, everyday, I learn something new. All those little new ideas I learn then mold to become one amazing project. I just want to say to all those that are wanting to start their clothing brand or are just starting to always experiment with something new. Keep on editing that get ready with me, or that process video on how to's, we will all make it one day. Dare to be different. Fabi.

@hiyorisarugaki1830
@hiyorisarugaki1830 6 ай бұрын
your story is not important. nobody cares. the problem is... there are 1million idiots selling t-shirts in every city. You need to make your brand unique (unique selling point) so that people choose you over the others. If everyone is selling the same thing, why should they specifically buy from you? When you find a good reason to buy from YOU then you will do well

I think they actually have some good advice. It’s not saying don’t start one they’re just saying have a game plan. I’ve been wanting to start one for years but as times change marketing changes and competition is aggressive so it’s always about revamping and coming back to the drawing board to increase your visibility to push your story ,this increasing your publicity and sales.. most companies that are around for decades started with a story and has pushed into other ventures that have built their brand into something more then just tshirts… anyone can sell a shirt but it’s really about being a visionary.. if you want more than just a small business I think this advice is for those types of people.. it’s enough coin in the world for everyone who is willing to go out there and get it.. never let anyone’s advice complete deter you from doing what your heart is set to do but we should always seek wise counsel and be mindful in the steps we’re taking so we can protect our assets and our investments

Before the hype it was the story. For example, if there's 2 brands you have to choose from; 1 is a brand about being a weedhead, while the other is about helping clothe children around the world, which one would you purchase from first? Both have a design you like, but you can only choose one due to budget reasons. That's what they mean by stories sells and not shirts.

I tell people that each category is different. Clothing brands sells stories, while inventions sells the "why". Ex: what makes your clothing brand different from other brands? It's the story behind your brand. Or: WHY do i need your vacuum compared to other vacuums? Hope that sums it all up.
