two wrms (stereo loops), similar in function but each with their own quirks + abilities. synth = ableton operator controlled by monome grid + synecdoche64 llllllll.co/t/wrms/28954

Just happened? I feel intrigued and overwhelmed. I was looking for answers about Norns, but I only have more questions.

I'll be honest, I find wrms a little baffling, but I love all the options for looping, live sampling, and granular synthesis the norns community has come up with (and continues to come up with)! So far, I've clicked a little more with otis and, to a lesser extent, cranes. But I'm excited to keep learning and expanding my repertoire!

if you haven't tried it yet you might catch on a little better with wrms/lite which just narrows down the options available. it's helpful to think about wrms as a regular delay/looper pedal, but with a bunch of different directions to go in once you have an initial loop in the buffer. you can't go wrong with sticking to otis though !

Really creative production there! Where did you get that sweet case?
@andrewcs_2 жыл бұрын
thxx! the case is for a custom build shield I made before monome started selling shield kits direct :-) I'm not aware of any laser cut cases that fit the current design

Very nice! How do you get the grid to control ableton? I don't have a grid, but I'm thinking of getting one so I'm interested. As far as I understand, the grid does not send midi. So did you write a program that allows it to communicate with ableton? How does that work?
@andrewcs_3 жыл бұрын
you can write custom programs in max or you can use apps that are already made, here are some links to places to start monome.org/docs/grid/grid-computer/ github.com/benjaminvanesser/elements github.com/andr-ew/prosody
@andrewcs_3 жыл бұрын
I'm using the app synecdoche64 from prosody but it's a little messy, the app "notes" from elements is pretty similar

Is that a 64? I need help running some of the more popular scripts like MLR and Cheat Codes on a 64.
@andrewcs_3 жыл бұрын
very late to seeing this but there's some info here for 64 grid + norns llllllll.co/t/norns-scripts-for-a-64-grid/29503. cheat codes & mlr are both compatible !
