Just started watching these recaps and am loving them! Don't have the patience to sit through an entire movie, and tend to fall asleep, this is perfect; if I really want to see the whole thing can look to see if it can be found. This is perfect for someone like me, and love finding out about movies that I'd have never have known about otherwise. So many of the movies from other countries have such lovely/interesting stories.

Bollywood is a big and wealthy industry, but I am afraid it is moving more distant to the real life the regular people enjoys. There is beauty in real life, if the speaker is well versed. Hats off to Mr. Ritesh Batra and his team.

I'm with you. This is was one happy ending I really wanted. I've often wondered that perhaps they met in Bhutan and lived together from then on. Wishful thinking, but sometimes the wrong train does get you to the right station. PS: Irrfan Khan (Sam) passed away in 2019. He was 50. He was one of greatest actors of my generation.

@@viratkapur6560 TI fell in love with this movie recap and wanted to find out more about the movie. I am so sorry to hear about his passing, I will look for some of his other work. They obviously added a few years to his character because he worked for 35 years at the firm. When they kept referring to him as an old man, I was a bit perplexed. He was only 40 when he made this movie. Although the ending is supposed be ambiguous, I am going with your ending. They moved to Bhutan and lived a very happy life.

@@viratkapur6560 In the end, it says she is in the apartment trying to decide if she should send the note to Sam, while Sam had gotten her address from the dabbawalas and was heading to her apartment. I like to think they met at the apartment, and they (along with her daughter) left for Bhutan, where they lived very happily with Ella selling her lunchboxes and Sam taking up a new accounting post. Or maybe they opened a restaurant together. Either way, they lived happily for the rest of their days.
