UnJaded Jade well that's the thing. There are probably other cases of people who got low marks when they should of got much higher but never realised. I mean if you get an A instead of an A* that's not likely to have much of an impact on your future but if you fail and have to retake that's basically a whole year wasted.

The wait is so much worse than the moment you get your results! I couldn't agree more with you, I feel like everyone makes such a big deal out of it since the very first day of school, but when you actually go through it you realize that it wasn't that bad. That was like me for Art. I was predicted an A band 1 and got a B, but it was getting only half marks for my folio that was such a shock for me and my teachers! Wasn't able to get a remark which was disappointing, but art is very subjective so great marks are never guaranteed :(

I feel you, I do :( DEFINITELY some exams I felt went awfully! Completely lost track of time in English Language so I was hoping to scrape a decent grade; I felt quite ill in one of the Biology exams and really struggled with most of the Qs. Thankfully with sciences there are multiple exams to even it out a bit! I also loathed one of the Business exams 😂 I had 2 nightmares about failing everything, so trust me, I did not feel confident with it at all. We surprise ourselves 💘 x x

Can I just say how happy I am that you're willing to say that your on your period. Periods are just things that happen to all women, LETS NORMALISE THEM!! That way we can get past the stigma of them and start looking into ground breaking medication to help with them.... just saying :)

gcse examiners definitely do not double check their marking. I gained 5 raw marks within one physics paper and my overall grade went up. that's probably a whole page worth of marks - its ridiculous.

My friend had a similar story to you - the exam board only marked one of the two booklets she used for her biology paper, so she went from a U to a B when it was re-marked. Examiners do make mistakes :)

Exactly the same happened to me at AS level last year! My results paper said I got a D in History but my teacher put it in for remark and I got a B! This was purely because a marker had missed two pages of marks! Crazy how much of an impact a stupid mistake can have on your life as I wouldn’t have been able to apply to the uni’s I did without the B! HUGE TIP: if you think the exam went well and you got a bad grade, hand it in for a remark!!!!

I was getting A*s in food but got a D in the exam. This was two years ago so I think it's too late to appeal it :(. Don't be too modest about your A*s! That's amazing and you worked hard of it so you should be proud

When I did my GCSE's, I went up by 18 marks on my geography sustainable decision making paper. It's crazy!!

I highly recommend getting your paper remarked! Something I regret not doing because I realised I was one mark off an A* in English lit but I was past the deadline :(

i was marked absent in my drama practical at gcse when i was there and then found out when i questioned my grade that they'd lost the footage recorded of my performance but had managed to mark the other people in the same group as me so i will never understand how the people who mark exams get things sooooo wrong
