Seems like I am doing everything right so far. My 2014 wrx came with an aftermarket racing clutch, aftermarket rack & pinion, and I got an AEM Cold Air Intake (Carb certified) installed on there. ECU was flashed after install by ASE certified professionals. Right now focusing on body and suspension mods, but I will get a COBB accessport before I do anymore HP mods. Catless downpipes are illegal here so I would never get one. And lastly I get all my work done at a performance auto shop that's pretty reputable in my area. I've had my 2015 Subaru WRX for 3 years now. There's only 1 mod I want to say that in my opinion is extremely important even if you wanna stay stock: RUN A MACH 2 GFB DEVERTER VALVE. I had a lot of boost lag, throttle response was terrible and biggest thing was the stock diverter you could blow through it with your lips. Get a new diverter valve. Also should mention, the boomba, is NOT reliable. I had a boomba, sounds cool but I had a lot of inconsistent idle. Swapped to a MACH 2 GFB Diverter, miles different. Even some exhaust pops with everything stock.

I called a local shop and they said you can’t do the tgv/egr delete anymore and if you do they don’t have “tunes” for it anymore…. Is that true?

Correct. Lookup the COBB EPA update

No tune needed for AOS!! I beleive there might be 1 or 2 that needa. Tuned but they might have been discountinued
@WRXGarage2 жыл бұрын
I think the only AOS that need a tune are the Track series ones. The Street series AOS don't need a tune.

Can I get my advice here? I'm thinking about doing downpipe, exhaust, intercooler, intake and a tune. Thoughts?
@WRXGarage2 жыл бұрын
Yeah that's an easy, straightforward setup!

I have 2018 wrx with MAPerformance tune I get a -2 or so knock is that normal
@WRXGarage3 жыл бұрын
Yes -2.41 knock is normal! As long as DAM stays at 1.000

I THOUGHT U HAD TO DO A TUNE WHEN U HAVE HIGH FLOW MUFFLERS CAT BACK
@WRXGarage3 жыл бұрын
Nope. Mufflers don't change airflow on these cars. Only aftermarket catted jpipe or catless jpipe need a tune.
@dakotasteingrabe94903 жыл бұрын
If I just do the intake and catback then run stage1 plus tune can I just run that tune forever or do I have to keep tuning after I tune it? Completely new to the whole tuning stuff
@WRXGarage3 жыл бұрын
Once the tune is flashed/loaded onto your car's ECU, it stays there permanently until you remove it. You can even unplug your Accessort after flashing the tune if you want.

@@WRXGarage Is that inclusive of AU spec STI models too? After I have loaded the tune into my ecu from my access port I can remove it?

Yes.

I have a my15 sti i want to know can I run a atmospheric blow off valve if do a tune? Currently running stage 2. I've heard they are bad for these motors
@WRXGarage3 жыл бұрын
Atmospheric blow off valves are not good for the new WRX's especially without a tune. A good tuner can use them but they're usually reserved for higher hp builds
@crusoebower33913 жыл бұрын
@@WRXGarage I have a STI which has the old motor can I use on this application? I just like the sound
@WRXGarage3 жыл бұрын
The new sti's and WRXs are the same with blow off valves. Not worth it.

Just FYI on Cobb’s own support forums one of their guys says you don’t need a tune for the CP or intercooler. Will it give you more power? Of course.Also, process west is a great verticooler.
@WRXGarage3 жыл бұрын
You don't need one, but our cars are very sensitive to any change in the air intake. That's why we can't use random air filters. Technically I could be safe to run an aftermarket IC without a tune, but I absolutely doubt that the car wouldn't see a DAM drop or something like that. Plus, without a tune you wouldn't actually see any benefits other than a larger mass for less heat soak.
