we got hit by a tornado

We intercepted an unprecedented tornado near Kingsley, IA part of a historic December tornado event on 12/15/21 across the Central Plains! This is just one of many tornadoes that touched down during this extraordinary severe weather event.

I apologize for freaking out. We miscalculated how close we were and got caught in the circulation. Overall a very intense situation. Storm chasing is dangerous and there’s a reason I don’t recommend it.

Wow! I'm from NM Navajo Reservation we were hit by the snow squall around 3 am. Was scary wind 20 to 30 mph, hail and snow. There was lighting and thunder. The electric was out til 6 and pine trees were broken in half. U guys be safe I'll be praying for everyone!

DAMN!! I was watching the radars on the news as these ones formed. Looked completely hidden in the blanket of rain- Glad you guys stayed safe tho!! I’m also glad I got to see some footage of the storm, even if it was basically the epicenter of it- overall glad you’re safe, and thanks for the slightly panicked but overall interesting footage!

This was an extremely difficult system to chase, props to you for getting a tornado. I also got an EF2 near Jefferson that night (about half mile to mile from it)

He wasn't referring to the actual materials they were being struck by, rather he was referring to an as yet unidentified weather phenomena causing the extreme winds. Basically he was still trying to identify the cause as either a tornado, microburst, or straight line winds from the derecho. But you do you...

I live in nebraska and qe got off school early. Tornado did not hit us but bery close and that was scary. That day was reallly warm though like early summer warm. Global warming is real and its hitting hard.
