To this day, I remember some of my flash cards because of what I was doing when I was studying them. My wife made a silly song about the Walla Walla Valley while we were on a hike through the mountains and to this day I remember WA sub AVAs because of that memory.

That's SUCH a good way to remember things! I wonder if a side-story of our channel could be wine-related songs haha

Thank you for this Noah! As someone currently wrapping up WSET 3 now, you guys are such a valuable resource. Appreciate the brutal honesty and real talk on all things diploma. So helpful for us contemplating that next step.

Really good video, probably a good idea in such a small community is to share you knowledge, I got some really good Chilean wines and more than happy to help you in any way

I am also doing my diploma(have d4 left), if you haven't gone through d3 then you really have more than half left rather than, "just two units left" because d3 is HUGE. And for me, i have spent more than 2.5 times the amount(2.5 times of 11k, I am assuming it is Australian dollars?and that's passing all the exams the first time) since i have to travel to tokyo to sit my exams on top of all the wines that I have to purchase. Another advise is to find a community of diploma students, it's really helpful, I had to do everything on my own for a while before finding some people to talk to online.

Oh we couldn't imagine having to fly to Tokyo for all your exams! How's D4 treating you?

@@wineforthepeople after d3, d4 is much easier but since I don't drink sparkling wine much(enjoyed d5 much better because I love VORS sherry) therefore I've found the tasting sessions to be a bit tough(not technically just that I don't really enjoy drinking sparkling wine in general), when and which exam will you be taking next ?

I was hoping you'd run us through your experience with the Diploma. Especially how your experience compares to the course in SA. Hella expensive and time consuming...but things like tasting all the Penfolds vintages on Day 1 already sounds impressive...like you're getting value for the money you're spending. I rather enjoy your thoughts/process in the WFTP blinds and podcast because of your L4 context. Thanks for filming this! Best of luck with D3 and D6!

You definitely get value for money that's for sure! I've definitely tried some super expensive wines that i couldn't otherwise try thanks to the course - and there is definitely some advantages being from South Australia (i got to try Sepeltsfield Para with the headwinemaker - that's a $10k experience right there). Overall I've loved it but damn is it a time suck - especially as you're expected to do it whilst working full time!

Based on my experience, all the modules are on a side, and D3 is a whole different planet... Hilarious
