Higher Americans want to work. Maybe the jobs shouldn’t expect everyone to have a huge degree for everything and they should start training Americans. As for the tariffs I don’t know if I agree with that. Jobs are not hiring and finding any reason to not hire people. Resumes for a job a McDonalds no training on the job anymore? Stupid orientation before the jobs. End that. Go back to training.

When I was a kid we had this strawberry farm that would invite school kids to pick strawberries. We were told to race to see who could collect the most & the winner got free strawberries. If you did not win you would have to pay $60 to take your strawberries home. Of course none of us was crazy to buy $60 dollar strawberries. The moment I grew up & realised what was done to us I wondered where that child slave labor scammer farmer was.

People may have forgotten but this happened the first time trump was in office. The farmers offered Americans up to $16 hour and benefits to pick the food but they still quit because it was too hard and too hot. Millions of dollars worth of food just rotted on the ground. It got so bad that the farmers needed a government bailout. Many farmers lost their farms. And they voted for him again! 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️

Farm bankruptcy filings rose 24% from 2018-2019. Mitigation payments went primarily to the largest farms, while small and medium farms were left to fend for themselves.

@@actualcorvusabsolutely the opposite. This problem only exists because of government regulation. The natural order under capitalism would be that the farms are unable to find workers unless they increase salaries and adopt more efficient mechanization thus reducing the need for workers. No, it would not fix it. There is hardly any room for higher production costs, which would result from higher wages. The big food company's dictate prices for goods, and the consumers want them, because they think u can make it cheaper and cheaper. If prices rise this food will be imported from those countries where those immigrants came from. In fact if this would allow people to have work for decent wages in their homecountries they would not have so many reasons to migrate. I mean at least it's a trick to stay competitive against countries where wages are low, to hire marginaly payed workers. In the medium term it will lower the wealth of parts of the us society.

Not unwilling, but unable. It’s not that you’re not making enough dollars, it’s that your dollars don’t buy much. Giving people more dollars is not the solution. Getting the government out of the way and shrinking the government would be a great start, which would allow more products to come to market, more cheaply, allowing you to buy more with the scarce dollars you currently have. This is basic Austrian economics. I suggest you study it.

You can't compare the removal of illegal foreign labour in the US to Brexit. The US is not also telling Mexico (1) let's annul our free trade agreement (NAFTA/USMC) (2) get rid of all our properties in Mexico (3) more checks at our borders. Morrover, the US has a diverse economy of both manufacturing and services whereas the UK solely focused on finance which is capital that was easily transferred out. Brexit is immensely worse. An Alien is a term in international law which simply means foreigner in laymans terms. Lien is the french word for "place" and the prefix "a" came from the greek, similar to the latin prefix "non" which negates the root word "lien". Therefore an alien is simply a person not of a place, a foreigner or outlander. This recent episode is not the first time that the US has had a widespread movement of hatred against recent immigrants to her shores. In the 1840's a political movement called the Know Nothing party was formed to fight against large scale Irish immigration and had a virulent anti Irish and anti Catholic slant. Similar venom was vented against Italians in the 1900's and Eastern Europeans and especially Poles in the 1920's onwards. Postwar saw anti immigrant emotions turned against Spanish speaking immigrants from Cuba, Puerto Rico and Mexico and more recently against people from West Asia and South Asia. This part of American History is by no means new but what is tragic is that often the more established emigrant groups sometimes ganged up on more recent immigrant groups. Such rivalry and hostility existed between Irish and Italians in the 1920's.

@@peterponcedeleon3368 There's a simple fix. Allocate wasted taxes to smaller agriculture companies so that they can gain access to the initially expensive equipment such as tractors, allowing them to farm far more crops. Prices are only high because of company greed, not cheap labor. There are PLENTY of farmers who would be joyful to profit 80-100k a year. By expanding the amount of farms there are in the United States, it will considerably increase crop yield and overall expense

There iis a dirty side to the idea of using immigrants, illegal immigrants for farm labour at a low wage. I am Canadian, we have a similar program. Canada would bring in "temporary foreign workers" to do agricultural work, pay them a lower wage, then send them back home. There is a plus and minus to this. Canadian jobs are lost to Canadians, plus the whole thing reeks of a racial slavery scenario. Under Justin Trudeau it seems to have expanded. Coffee shops like Tim Horton's and banks like the TD Bank seem to have a disproportionate, by a large degree of Indian born workers. I do not drink Tim Horton coffee any more, and I will remove my money from TD Bank.
