a lot of people are complaining about video quality, because let's be honest, camera's just aren't the future for AR. But for VR, the latency, resolution and refresh-rate are almost perfect. People do get dizzy and uncomfortable because of the weight of the headset tho. It's capabilities are also pretty much limited to entertainment, work or stuff like cooking, which is cool, but nobody would spend much money on that, other than rich people. I'd love to see more attempts at maximizing comfort and clarity, over fancy features. The bigscreen beyond for example is such an incredible headset and would actually be wearable for long periods of time without any strain, and that's coming from a small company. Yes it's vr only, and requires a pc. But nailing the basics is how people stay interested and makes it more useable now, rather than just in the future.

This is the first review I’ve seen from her and already she’s my favorite. Great delivery. And incredibly insightful. The “I did ______ for 24 hours” is an old KZbin trope by now but it’s a brilliant baseline for such a new device in such anew market. @@dtz1000so the quest can give you 3 laggy browser window, while the Apple Vision Pro can give you way more without any performance problem. With the quest 3, you can read text from you phone when the light conditions are really great, you can read really small things with the Vision Pro. You can use most of the iPhone and iPad apps on the Vision Pro, when you can barely run a few android apps on the quest 3. And the quest 3 is the 4th quest device. How can a 4th generation device have way worst software experience then a first gen device, with a lot of its features currently on beta.

@@Andre_Jordan I think meta will stay on the lower to middle part of the market for now but wouldn't put it past them to do a flagship device that's still cheaper than the apple offerings in a year or two if the market conditions and adoption of the ecosystem are in the right place.

It's like when iphone came out in 2008 when Nokia was laughing the head off... Back in 2007：Nokia CEO said about iPhone "It is quite an interesting product but it is lacking a few essential features, such as 3G, which would enable fast data connections," We might look at 5-10 years later where this goggle could be as small as a rayban.

You know! At first when the first cell phone was there it was very big, heavy and of course if you think about it there were many drawbacks, but over time it got better. Likewise with Apple Vision Pro, I think in the next 10 years this will become a part of our daily lives and of course with a simpler form but many functions.

The difference is that the first cell phone didn't really have any alternatives. Calling people from your own phone regardless of where you were was just something that could not be done before that. Meanwhile most any task that could be done on Vision Pro can also be done on a computer, cell phone, or TV. Which tasks are best done on Vision Pro? So far, mainly movies / video it seems, but only if you're solo.
