To reduce the stickiness of rice id recommend washing it prior! It removes the starch and takes just an extra 5 minutes! (You fill the rice-cooker bowl with the dry rice and fill it with water, massage the rice until the water is clearer, and repeat until its semi-transparent)

Also unless it's a specific kind of rice (for example basmati), all rice in Japan is sticky by default, since it is eaten with chopsticks (if it wasn't sticky you would need to eat each grain of rice one by one)

I was wondering before he grabbed that bag of rice if he is going to rinse the rice until water is clear. And then proceeded to try to find this comment to see if anyone else called him up on it. Everybody! Wash your rice first, totally worth it. (Also cheap rice cookers are amazing if you eat rice regularly and dont have one yet!)

Fun Fact, there was actually another company in Japan called "Logitec" (it's spelled the same as Logitech in Japanese), and they were in Japan before Logitech was able to open up anything in Japan, so Logitech had to change their name to Logicool in Japan only to avoid a name conflict.

I mean the "reviews" (I know they're not reviews I just don't know what term to use) are basically as long as a Tiktok video. It's my gripe with this channel, really. He's always making compilation videos that are incredibly shallow and unsatisfying. I like the idea behind the video so I watch it but after I'm done I'm always left feeling like I got nothing out of it. I guess this works for him so it's not gonna change but I WISH this channel was more in depth than "wow! so cool! anyway, next product...".

i haven't been to japan for nearly thirty years, but when i went they had stuff we still don't have over here, they do water based car wax that is easy to apply and polish and repels water, and glass coating that repels water much better than anything i've seen in the UK. also they coat their toilets with an anti bacterial that means you never have to clean the toilet, unless you want. i can't even remember the electronic goods that was in stores, but it's still not appeared over in the UK. my ex is japanese and my fav thing was the kiddies buggy we bought, one button to open it and one button to fold it away. when we first got married, 1995, we went to register it with the local prefecture - everything is paper, they don't do anything official in japan with computers, its papers and family seals and the registry office was floor to ceiling wooden plan chests of documents. my in laws had f15's and blackhawks circling their house 24/7 too, they live next to an airbase.

for the neckband speakers, they're also amazing for if you're in a noisy environment where you also still need to hear. let's say for a warehouse worker. earbuds don't work because you might have heavy machinery like a forklift rolling around you occasionally, but they still allow music speakers. the neckband speakers would be great for you! i actually personally use a pair every day for my own job as a forklift operator.

In the US, we used to have a department store chain before Internet shopping took over. It was called Best Products. You would shop and check the items to make sure they were what you wanted. You would then take the ticket, pay for the item, and they would bring it from the warehouse in the back to the pick up counter. It was marketed as a catalog store that allowed you to test out the products before buying.

The ball mouse is called a trackball, pretty useful especially helping reduce RSI. its been available for years in the west but we hardly made a fuss about it. Also for fine control, you can use a hotkey on your keyboard to move super slow to be accurate.

The trackball been available since the early 1990s. But mrwhostheboss was born in 1995, so I guess it's never really been popular in his conscious lifetime. To me, it's 1990s throwback technology that a few arthritic legal secretaries used at the law firms I've worked at. But the popularity of the trackpad on laptops really prevented adoption of the trackball, which was the only alternative mouse option for desktop users. It's cute he talks about it as cool Japanese tech.

That thumb ball (upright trackball) has saved me from RSI. When I started working in tech professionally they provided me with a mouse. After a few months I had so much tendon pain. I realised the difference was that I'd been using a media controller at home which works similarly (your arm stays still). Took a couple of months to settle but that was 2005 and Im still coding daily and pain free. I'd give that a 10! :D
