Hi Richard, when you run the IC7300 CAT in WSJTX as shown does the frequency also show in MacLoggerDX? If so how have you set it up as mine is conflicting, if I enable Radio in Maclogger DX it stops the CAT working in WSJTX and pops up the error window. I am using JT-Bridge. Thanks Brendan VK3MH

Hi and thank you. Great question. No when using MLDX I have the radio disconnected from it. So, just using WSJT-X connected to the radio. If you have a CI-V cable and USB cable attached to the radio you could probably use the CI-V for WSJT-X and the USB for MLDX. Just make sure "Unlink from REMOTE" is set in the radio. Thanks again and best 73 - Rich, K0PIR.us

Hi Rich, thank you for the reply. I watched the next video and you covered the topic there. I have since set up WSJTX with Clublog, eQSL and QRZxml as per your instructions and it is all working nicely. I did give the CIV option a thought on the IC7300, I am using WSJTX on the CIV port via the CT17 through a USB convertor Com4 on my IC7851 (It is also connected to the SteppIR Via port 2 on the CT17) with Windows 10 which works fine, however for some reason the WSJTX doesn't work through the 7851 USB port Com3 for frequency data so I am using that port for my logging program (Ngenlog) instead. I have found the second USB port Com5 on the 7851 does not work with either WSJTX or Ngenlog so it maybe being used for audio codec, I am curious to see if they are 2 unique ports on the IC7610 if you have time to test them. They show as Com 3 and Com 5 on my PC, Com3 works as CIV but Com5 doesn't. NGenlog is no longer supported so I am migrating it all to Maclogger DX and will replace the PC with my MacPro for future connection to the IC7851. I am using 2 usb convertors as serial ports for the CT17 CIV com4 and the Alpha 87A com8. Com1 is used for the rig blaster interface. Com3 and Com5 are the IC7851 USB ports on the Windows 10 PC. I would like to see how the Mac handles the 2 USB ports in the IC7610 as on my iMac when I connect the FT991 and IC7300 together the iMac doesn't discriminate between the ports for audio and CIV control when the power gets cycled (As seen in the mac system report - USB) and changes the allocation which confuses WSJTX and I have to go into the WSJTX radio profile and change the settings each time. I think this may be an issue with the driver being the same for each radio's USB serial/sound card and the iMacs handling of it as the ports vanish when the radio is not present, it may not be an issue in Windows as I think windows may remember each port from last time. I hope this is not to confusing, Regards Brendan VK3MH

Hi Brendan, nice to hear from you and thank you for commenting. Yes the 2 ports (IC-7610) are distinctive. One is for CI-V and the other is for FSK Data. I see the same thing on the Mac. Like you, when I disconnect the cable from the Mac and reconnect they sometimes get changed. That hasn't happened on the PC. Do you have this?: www.w7ay.net/site/Applications/IC-7610/Contents/Discover.html I have not tried using the USB2.0 and USB3.0 on the Mac. That would be interesting. At one time I used a CI-V cable and USB2.0 cable on the Mac and was able to have MLDX and WSJT-X control the radio. I went back and am using just the USB2.0 now. Thank you again, good luck and hope to hear you on the air. Best 73, Rich, K0PIR

Hello and thank you for commenting here. If you downloaded the latest version of WSJT-X, try moving the power slider up in WSJT-X. It acts differently in the latest version. Use the "Tune" button in WSJT-X with the power slider to get the proper level. 73!

Thanks for the helpful video. One of the 'weird' things I'm having a problem with is the usb drivers. Sometimes they 'appear' in the audio midi setup window, and other times they are not there. I never know from one time to the next if the drivers are going to be listed or not.
@tglenn31215 жыл бұрын
Disregard this problem. I discovered that the drivers appear when the 7300 is 'on' and communicating with the computer, and the drivers do not appear when the radio is off.

@HamRadioAdventures3 жыл бұрын
Hi Nathan, when there’s an error using “Test CAT”, it’s usually the serial port or baud rate that is mis-configured. Check that you have the correct one entered in WSJT-X and that the baud rate is correct. Also check to make sure no other program is using the serial port. GL and best 73!

@@HamRadioAdventures hey thanks for the reply. I got it working on OSX, but still having problems in Ubuntu on a different computer. One minute it was working, the next it wasn’t. I used it on Ubuntu for months and had no problems. Have tried three different rigs, all work in OS X, none in Ubuntu anymore. Things went haywire when I decided to try out 2.3 in Ubuntu, and it worked, but then I saw that the beta ends in a couple days. I couldn’t figure out how to go back, so I just reinstalled Ubuntu, then poof, wsjtx started giving me Hamlib IO error. I can see the rig in the dropdown menu but that’s about as far as I can get. Baud matches, and settings that are basically identical to my OS X machine don’t work. The USB ports aren’t dead on this laptop, I’m still able to use my mouse and jump drive and I’m still able to see the rigs in WSJTX configuration. Really puzzling
