I admit,Dave is very outspoken,however,asyou said,Dave calls a number of people stupid.ive was raised in a church that YOU'D better do what they said or else: they didnt teach or believe in compassion: i will say Dave should have gotten some sort aid or help for the young woman instead of it hitting the media,very bad press.i dont know all the facts though: i can relate in a way because of how i was reared in the church.

That doesn't make it right. I watch Dave's show and follow his financial advice but I cringe every time he calls someone stupid. It's not okay and that is actually "classless". People get desensitized by people's celebrity status. It's wrong for Dave to do it just as it is for anyone else. He fires her for her sin but turns around and sins by cussing. His firing her and canceling her insurance is just as bad as her having pre marital sex. The hypocrisy is incredible. He's gonna lose this one.

You're projecting your own bias into the situation. You weren't raised in "the church." You were raised by people, who are sinners. Your one congregation may not have been doing it right. But if you read the bible, all kinds of congregations had their own problems. This is nothing new. You're literally blaming God for the actions of people in your one congregation. Doesn't sound very compassionate to me, but it does sound hypocritical. I would invite you to try again. You can always go back to Christ as long as you draw breath. @@victortaylor7737

@@44fastgun wait, so youre going to dismiss the the old testament commandments as if God hmself didnt speciically command them hmself? When do you think god became more moral than his behavior in the OT? Keep in mind that according to Christians, Jesus himself commanded the atrocities and disgusting law in the OT, because he is the creator god.
@44fastgun3 жыл бұрын
@@EDUAROSOLAS You didn't hear me dismiss anything. The Old testament laws were valid and established to prepare for the Messiah, whose presence would begin a new covenant. The OT itself foretells the expiration of that dispensation (Jeremiah 31: 31-34, Ezekiel 36: 24-28). I do not see where God was any less Holy than He's always been. The only real OT atrocity I see is wicked human beings rebelling and despising their creator after He revealed to them their best path to eternal existence. If you are trying to suggest slavery as "God's huge mistake", then you would be the one guilty of dismissing the OT. The whole system reveals itself in Exodus to resemble what in modern times is called indentured servanthood; it was a voluntary, temporary path to land-ownership for the poor, with strict laws against abuse, and provisions for voluntary permanence due to many servants developing favorable relationships with their employer. Compare that to the secular welfare disaster of today that panders to poor folks until election day, gives little incentive to work,, then leaves them with a mere grocery check for the rest of their lives. I think you got the OT confused with the humanisticly-developed secular Euro-colonial slavery system, which was involuntary, abusive, and violated every precept that was the OT social structure.

Same thing happened to Chris Hogan. Dave Ramsey calls his entire audience stupid, his callers stupid, and himself stupid on a regular basis. @Prey R i think thats what happened too. As a christian company if they dont hold people accountable, they arent representing a christian company. Maybe they were willing to give her another chance, but the fact that she didnt see her past choice as problamatic working for a christian company is where they couldnt keep her on. Its one thing to make a mistake, but not owning up to it when you know it breached the core values is another as well.

I like Dave's show, I listen a lot to him because it makes sense what he says. But I don't share his religious believes and thus if I had an opportunity to work for him, I respectfully would decline because I don't want my employer to meddle in my private life. If Ramsey clearly communicate his expectations and you don't like it, then don't work there.If the expectations were not clearly communicated or changed over time, well then that is an issue. But it isn't much different if you work for a Catholic school. They set expectations and as a teacher you have to abide by that. If not, go work for a public school or some private school that does not have any religious denomination

@@chancock4222 There is a difference here. Dave is good in helping people out of debt. His strategy has proven it and doesn't need validation anymore. Where I differ with him is for people who do NOT have debt, how to move on, i.e. investments how to build wealth. On a personal level, like I said, I don't think I want to be on his team. @@mathisnotforthefaintofheart Of course it needs validation. His $1000 emergency fund is way too low. His advice to purchase as $1000 beater car (which no longer exist) is a recipe for disaster. It's going to eat a $1000 emergency fund in about two months of ownership with repairs. Paying debts smallest to largest with no regard for interest rate can make sense but it depends on the situation. Getting people out of debt and then refusing to tell them how smart it is to use debt once they are better equipped to handle it is irresponsible. His advice is to just never take on any debt except a mortgage again after you're out. That's preposterous. Of course one should use credit cards and pay them back every month to take advantage of perks and increase one's credit worthiness. But he advises against it. He's leaving money on the table. Add these very simple mistakes and antiquated beliefs to his utter hypocrisy in his own business practices and it's clear how our of touch he is. As for "if you don't agree don't follow him". That's a cliche and harmful. People should follow him who don't agree. They should challenge him. They should point out his mistakes so those who he's harming with his advice have other sources of information. People who follow his teachings blindly need to see his failings and where both his methods and his character fall short. And finally yes, his point of view and advice are simple. In fact they are too simple and that's part of the problem.

The problem Dave will run into is the picking and choosing of who has to follow the rules. Chris Hogan was allowed to keep his job after multiple affairs if he took counseling. He had a book coming out that would make a lot of money for Dave so he was allowed to stay much longer. Dave Ramsey can argue that the woman got fired for violating company policy that she agreed to. However, when there's a conflict between company policy vs. federal law, federal law always takes precedent. What will probably happen is the woman won't be hired back but may get some maternity leave compensation since federal law states that a woman has a right to it. I listen to Dave's show and went through Financial Peace University. I would say I'm "Davish" in re to what I learned in the class, and I have a lot of respect for him. But if Federal Law says you can't fire a person for being pregnant then he may wind up losing this lawsuit. On the other hand it is his business and should be able to run it his way. He already lost an $80,000 lawsuit for firing someone because they're gay. He has this and one other lawsuit pending.
