Worst failed coverage ever with these 30 min highlights reels. It’s a shame the main has been ruined by greed. The general public even used to get in on the excitement when it was available for all to see. Now even the players don’t get to watch. $20 is also steep for an app. Solution is to sell viewing for the main only at a cheaper price. Instead of trying to rope people into a subscription. Astedt’s victory in this tournament is really important for Poker as a sport. Poker is a mind game like chess but the luck part makes people think this is a casino. In main event which is freezout it is really difficult to win for the best player even for 30 best players in the tournament. Even this year we aleady saw many examples how best players lost their stakes with AA or smth having 80+% to win a hand. In the last 10 years only average players won this tournament. The legends won only when the tournament pool was much smaller. Nowadays when 10000 players participate in this tournament even the poker kings need a lot of luck to win. If the best player win this year it will show that the best player also may win the biggest tournament with only one entry. And of course this win will make Astedt something like Messi in poker.

@rayoconnor44133 ай бұрын
While I agree that it would be pleasing from a purist point of view for the online crusher to take down the world's most prestigious live tournament it would do absolutely nothing for the growth of the game. Poker is not chess. Whether people like it or not it is a gambling game. That is the beauty of it. It's somewhere on the spectrum between Chess and Roulette on the skill/luck ratio. If that weren't the case then you wouldn't have a bunch of amateurs paying $10k to enter a tournament versus the very best players in the world. That luck factor is the secret sauce. Espen Jorstad is a fantastic, GTO-master, player and won it 2 years ago. I don't think that did much for the game. No, the best thing for the game would be for Foxen to win and it's not even close. Women are 50% of the population but are grossly underrepresented in card rooms and tournaments. Having a feminine, attractive women who isn't afraid to run huge bluffs against a field of mostly young men (while her husband cheers her on from the rail) would do wonders for the growth of the game. The thing is other women will likely only see all that if she goes on to win the tournament and the footage goes more mainstream as a result.
