Jackson drugged all sections ( even the trombones without even playing back lol) EXCEPT DOA, central Drumline came to play for sure… WT last cadence was fye tho

That damn DOA drumline cocky as hell though. Honestly, they both did a great job. When it comes to SWAC and MEAC drumlines the styles are different. You have to go with the style that you appreciate the most. Both represented the culture well.

As a unit WT is more complementary but I will say DOA snares stood out them boys choppin and groovin. I like WT material. But the visual/tricking component I do like DOA a little better. This good material from both WT second set is nice! 🔥🔥🔥

DOA for drumline. DT cleaned up those chords for the win for tubas but NCCU represented well. Wasn't a slaughter but NCCU can never compete with the wow factor of sheer volume.

I like both schools.I support all HBCUs to the fullest.In this case and I'm not being bias in no kind of way.I have to go with DOA.Yeah I'm from NC born and raised.Just being honest the style DOA plays is great.Like I said in my beginning no biad.I have much respect for JSU and all HBCUs.They did piss me off.By moving Honda to got damn Alabama.That was real stupid

Snares' licks are tight and together, and the tonals sound like water. Am I saying they the best. No, but they sure are better than WT.

If people think NCCU's drumlime beat WT.. They've obviously never played percussion instruments in their life.. NCCU's had minimal chops and dexterity with their arrangements.. If you listen closely to both sections you hear where "the mud" is coming from.. It's NCCU'S drumline.. WT's arrangements are very complex and hard to learn without the proper practice time.. No biases here.. just facts..

Lol clearly your ears aren’t working NCCU had way more color to their material than JSU it’s clear you don’t understand the complexity of the tonals playing snare parts at times complementing them and they even played a “swac bumping type” cadence just to show versatility those triplet kicks JSU did not gonna cut it , both lines were nice and did what they do both lines also had dirty spots but overall NCCU edged them out by like .5

Dude I’m a band director and kids learn WT stuff just from watching KZbin. Both sections have a different groove so it’s really still up to the listener’s opinion. Solos don’t win either imo 🤦🏾‍♂️

Very biased comment section. You can’t easily compare MEAC lines and SWAC lines so it only comes down to who is cleaner. NCCU was more visibly appealing because of stick tricks and stuff but JSU was more appealing to the ear because of harder rudiments and more complex cadences instead of just straight forward cadences. They were both very clean though, so once people get their head out of their asses they can see how much of good battle this was instead of being one sided
