When I was a freshman XC runner I saw you kick down Moffy right in front of our house in Mission Beach 2012. I've been following ever since. Queen of Tri.

So Gwen is busy with all obligations of family life and of competing at such a level... and she apologizes to strangers on the internet because she didn't have the time to reply to their questions.... What a champ! 👏👏👏👏👏👏

That Olympic Gold Medalist in you is still there. It’s so very clear to me in listening to you in this recap video. You are so hard on yourself, you will not make an excuse, you will stay determined to do the best you can and that pride in your performance. So much to admire and emulate. Thank you ❤

I think you did great! From off the bike to finish line you picked off so many other athletes! I think when you get the swim you want, you are going to have even more fun! So enjoying watching you back in triathlon! (though I also loved watching you just running too!)

Wow, So impressed with your improvement. I think you would have been right in there if you had choice of swim spot. I hope you make it to Paris. Keep going and try to get world title next time round. You contribute so much to triathlon!!!!

Go Gwen!!! Whatever is next, you got this! And, you inspire me so much. I’m not even really a triathlete (did a few sprints got 3 in AG out of 3 once lol) but your passion, guts, bravery, hard work, talent, I could go on, are so inspiring, human to human, triathlete or not. Wishing you all the best!! ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉Thanks for sharing this past year!!

my overriding thoughts watching the race is that it's a case of what could've been... Your physical shape looks good- and you're improving all of the time... Would love to see you in Cagliari- with Oly qualifiers passing this one out. Not sure that's going to happen- but hey...

Sounds like you had a good race! The swim is always weird to judge, but if you are happy with the majority of your race and progress, then so am I. Cheers!

Wondering if the US Olympic selectors have factored in that you finished on the heels of Lisa Tertsch in Yokohama who finished 2nd in Cagliari…. Very different courses…. Cagliari doesn’t tell the whole story for USA…. In any case - you have to fight for the ITU grand final. If you don’t get selected for Paris you could still prove that you should have been by going all out in Andalucia :) Love watching your story. Xx

that laugh says it all!! Not having "FUN" at all!!!!!! And rightfully so that Katie Zafaris was selected over Gwen to participate in Italy Calirigi, as the results show, Katie was the best choice over Gweny!!!! Those are just the facts unfortunately! :( Gweny you should immediately change to T100 events and PTO will likely give you a "Wildcard" to participate!! Go four it Girl!!!! you would have four more miles of running to run down peeps! Don't be scared of the distance! Just Get-er=done!!!!
@GwenJorgensen5 ай бұрын
Katie was subbed in 4 times last year so had 4 additional opportunities that I did not have to earn points and yet I still had more points. So to sub me out once I finally earned my points did not seem fair at all. With only one year of points and without opportunities I still got it done through wins

Well I see this race a little differently...maybe because I'm further away from it. For me, based on the way you ran, based on the way your swim work has been going...but more importantly based on your improved bike IQ....look, if you had the ability to pick a better start pos'n before the swim you would have been competing for a top 5 at this race. You're not a strong enough swimmer to catch the lead group but you're a strong enough swimmer to stay with the lead group. A small change in start pos'n would have means a disproportionate improvement in finishing place. But, hey, that's all unicorn farts now. ;-)
@GwenJorgensen6 ай бұрын
thanks :) don't have the luxary of start picks..i would now if i got into cagliari b/c i'm ranked 15th but won't be there. just do the best with what we have! need to be able to excute in any situation. that's waht makes a true champion and what i'm working towards
@michaelbenedict29616 ай бұрын
Gwen, we all have bad races, yet I know you're disappointed considering your performance potential. I still struggle with how you're still playing the WTCS/Olympics "game"...you're better than that! Imagine how you could Conquer 1/2IM distance if this selection thingy doesn't pay out. Fingers crossed for you. Hope there is another shot somehow too. Stay resilient, stay in the fight!

@michaelbenedict29616 ай бұрын
@@GwenJorgensen I know how that feels! I know it's a little bit of an unknown, but how do you think you'd do at non-draft mid-distace tris? Seems like there might be good opportunities for you to make money and feed the competitive animal at the PTO or 1/2 Ironman series too. Not 100% sure if there's more sponsorship opportunities at that game or not, but I'd guess so. In any case, you are a bad-ass. Keep crushing things. You definitely are both a great athlete and have an inspiring attitude, which should keep you employed in the competitive game. Stay healthy...

Thanks for doing this race rundown Gwen. You moved up another level with this race. And I think you will only keep improving if you continue. I was super pissed to see that they took you out of Cagliari, particularly after all the hard work you had to do just to build up enough points to qualify for the WTCS races. I still hold out hope the USA selectors see the benefit of sending you to Paris.
