Two things can be true: Vi objected to Cait shooting, atleast partly, because she saw the humanity in Jinx when she saw a child caring about her. So Vi's jugdment was compromised. Cait was still at a high risk of missing. The Hextech gear was glitching and Cait wasn't in the best headspace to take the shot. She missed when she shot Jinx' finger and she missed when she shot Vi's gauntlet. Yes both of those times were because what was happening beyond her, but thats also the point, one wrong move from the kid or Sevika pushing Cait could have led to her missing. A meta reading would also be that in Season 1 the reason she used her gun was to protect people (shown in her flashback). With this she hits every shot, like when she saves Vi from Sevika in S1E5 or when she shoots the gun out of the kid's hand. But when she is shooting to kill she is more brash and doesn't succeed, like at the beginning of the fight where she shoots the mirror or when she shoots to kill Jinx and only hits her finger.

To be fair Cait already missed. She shot her finger off obviously she's not targeting a single finger. She went for that killshot and missed.

Yeah I’ve mentioned this to others, even if she wouldn’t have missed, it was a good chance for collateral. Also when Vi told her before hand to take the shot, she had already disassociated jinx from powder. But once the kid ran in to save jinx, it surprised vi and made her see jinx as powder again.

Isha head was already close to Jinx, and Cait bullets are pretty strong, so even if she hit her, the bullet would have gone through Jinx head and hit Isha

Yeah we already saw the kinda damage one of her bullets can do in the Arcade her gun basically fires piercing rounds

I think that on THAT shot, Vi saved Caitlyn soul. If she miss, she will have a child death following her as a burden. And if she doesn't care "because I had to do it" then Vi will have the proof that Cait is too far gone... too. The real solution should have been to not go alone once again

I think the whole point is that Cait WOULDVE missed, because she's blinded by rage, she's spiraling, she had already missed when she SHOT jinx's finger off Vi knew caitlyn was not in the right mind to hit the shot without harming the kid who was also squirming around and moving all the time

Yeah the hextech gear was also literally just messing up too so I agree. Even if Cait didnt miss isha still would have died on account of jinx and her necks being aligned.

I'm really glad to see ppl actually think that what Cait did with grey was messed up, I was honestly watching in shock as they showed all those vents open up as more and more ppl were getting basically poisoned, imagine my surprise when every single reaction I've seen on KZbin was everyone vibing to the song and just saying how "cool" or "badass" it looked with zero thought of what actually was going on. So seeing you two actually pay attention to it and call Cait out on how messed up it was felt great. You two are the best!❤

Vi has zero reason to trust Caitlyn's judgment in that scenario. No matter how good your aim, she could've easily killed that kid or scarred her by executing Jinx. A very similar situation to Vi and Powder being traumatized by enforcers killing their parents on the bridge. Not to mention Caitlyn is seeing phantoms of Jinx in her grief, using chemical warfare in the undercity, and is shooting a recently glitching weapon. She was about to cross a line and Vi was right to stop her imo

The whole cait not missing or missing is interesting, but then you remember the hextech was messing up who knows if it could've happened again,she shot and only hit jinx's finger, she was fiening to shoot when vi was in her way shooting two shots, spiraling down

even if cait would not missed, the kid Issha would still be dead as we saw repeteadly that the hextech rifle goes thru the target, and Vi' cannot allow that for Cait as that woudl make her the same as the enforcers that killed Vi mother

I think that Cait coulve hit her target on Jinx, but her hextech was acting wierd and the bullets from her gun are powerfull enough that they would've most likely hit the kid too. From my point of view its the fact that Cait was willing to risk the life of a child, which is something she shouldn't have done

Ok so little spoiler-free context for the "Black Rose" : Ambessa comes from a belligerant empire called "Noxus". In this empire, there is a sercret cabal called "The Black Rose". Just before Caitlyn shot Jinx's finger, Vi's head was lowered in a defensive boxer's clinch with Jinx whaling away at Vi's back. Jinx's head and shoulders were completely exposed. There's no reason to think Caitlyn wasn't going for the head shot. So, yes, Caitlyn can miss, if the target moves erratically enough. Would she hit a stationary Jinx on the altar? Sure. Would she do so while managing to miss a squirming Isha clearly trying to protect Jinx? See "erratic movement" above. It doesn't matter how good of a shot someone is--there's a .1 second reaction time hard-wired into the human nervous system, give or take a few milliseconds, and if you're squeezing the trigger and your target gets obscured in that fraction of a second, there's nothing you can do about it. None of that changes the fact that something about Jinx's interaction with Isha clearly gave Vi second thoughts. So yeah, Vi is using the kid as an excuse--but it happens to be a pretty reasonable one in this context. Which is why so many people are arguing about it--it's almost like the writers crafted a scenario where no one is clearly right or wrong. How very strange that Arcane would do such a thing... :winking_face:
