I believe it’s a situation where the boy was already infatuated with his dad, then the dad just happened to molest him once, which lead for the boy to never get over it and in return become the constant molester. Making it way worse than how it started, which it feels like it started way before prom night, unlike what the mom believed.

@@Jowyerv oh you just have misunderstood that. It’s called manipulation and victim blaming. “You started it and embraced it” is him talking abt the first scene shown which is the m@sturbation scene. His father said “it’s okay to feel these things” or something around that line. Which he took that as him “starting it” when his dad never started anything at all. And the “embracing it” part is where the son asked “do you do it too?” And the dad didn’t deny it. It’s sad really but no the dad didn’t start anything :) it’s js a manipulation and victim blaming from the son
