When you think about it, you have to take into consideration that this is a prequel to the storyline. Not much should be expected during this time. However, further in the future, it should be expected that players see new items and dynamic maps, enemies, etc.

I didn't like this initially because I had an expectation after playing New Order. Now I'm more open minded and having a good time with it.

The first part of the game is really repetitive with disabling the super soldiers but on my second play through I found out that you can disable the first one, pick up his gun, and go guns blazing on the others in the section. But it was still very repetitive.

Unfortunately, Blaskowitz drops his gun whenever you go through one of the doors so that only helps if there's more than one in a room, or you have the Heavy Machinegun Perk which, unless you want to sit there reloading checkpoints to reach the 200 kill counter, is only going to help if you decide to replay the mission later on.

Zombies were THE changes which essentially rendered Old Blood to an absolutely shitty game

zeus1117 I quite liked the zombies, each to own I guess :) they weren’t as bad as the supernatural levels in return to castle wolfenstein anyway. The one thing I did find annoying was the mechanic where sometimes normal troops would transform into zombies when you shot them in the head, it screwed up the stealth somewhat, and the final boss was a bit of a joke.

The zombies were pretty generic in this game - classic Wolfenstein 3d had those crazy guys with guns in their chest and cleavers that they'd wave around and Return to Castle Wolfenstein had zombies that summoned ghost skulls and skeleton knights that could block your shots. Fun stuff. Old Blood was a bit lacking in imagination and the zombies kinda felt like the devs were going: "Fine! We're sick of your whining about no supernatural stuff in TNO, have some damned zombies!"

Typanoid lol I was fine without any supernatural stuff to be honest I always found those parts a bit of a chore in return to castle wolf, I’d have been happy with shooting nazis the whole way through. Yeah I liked the chain gun guys in original wolf 3d - there was a giant one as a boss in spear of destiny too. They were mutants made my a mad scientist, which I suppose is semi based in fact, nazi experiments and all, so I didn’t really class that as zombies etc

Whether there are man-made experimental Frankensteins or raised by "Black magic voodoo" doesn't really matter as far as I'm concerned (I'm fine either way really) - my point was really just that the zombie enemies in The Old Blood lacked imagination in their designs; they were every generic (Nazi) Zombie you've seen, shambling slowly towards you, while making gurgling noises and they didn't make for interesting enemies that required much of a change in tactics. The undead enemies in the older games (mutants or magic mummies) had elements that made them memorable (even if they were perhaps not great enemy designs functionally); armed with weapons or abilities that were quite distinctive and made you remember them. And just to clarify: Nazis all the way is fine and dandy, but they need distinctive weapons and abilities to make them interesting and shake things up so the combat remains interesting.

I believe this game is a simple good time shooter. He was absolutely right about the sneak levels in castle Wolfenstein

I think visually I expected it to look better but this could just be KZbin and TB openly saying he didn't understand fully the graphical settings. Anyway saw this was cheap for Xbox One but I already had it on pc and still not played so time to fire this at some point in the future. RIP TB
