Nice video! I have to agree with the statement "know nothing commenters, " It seems that the internet is full of them and it gets really irritating at times reading all of the crap that they put into words. I purchased a Super Tenere three weeks ago and I am really enjoying it.

+velvet911pk No kidding, right? And don't get me wrong - i can be pretty abrasive online. But i never make stuff up just to argue. If you ever hear me talking about a bike, it's because i've ridden it, in-depth, and i've made my conclusions based on my riding and testing experiences. The sheer amount of misinformation in this industry is mind-boggling to me.

Well, I am late to this thread. I have a Tenere and love the thing. The low center of gravity makes it a pleasure to ride. I have 10000 miles on mine in just under a year and it has been bullet proof. I also use it for two up and it is fantastic. Lived in Colorado and took it on all sorts of dirt and it was just fantastic. If you want a full blown dirt bike that weighs nothing buy a YZ250 otherwise this is a bike that will do about everything you ask of it. Great Video and I agree that there are alot of reviewers that says a bunch of trash and have not ridden the bike for more than a few hours. Had two triumph explorers and they were top heavy and made for some pretty scary rides.

Super 10 is fun. I love to see videos of people actually riding them. I want to cry when I see somebody riding it like it's a 2 wheel Cadillac.

I love mine. I got it to travel the dirt roads. But I wouldn't take it to the mule trails I road when younger. It's a great highway bike too.
@BruceSteever5 жыл бұрын
Single tracks are a bridge too far, but i still amazed at how well this thing worked in the sticks. All the while serving as a great road-going sports-tourer, too.
@bradtaylor51935 жыл бұрын
I agree. My legs aren't what they used to be and I just jump off now. I've had this thing land on my leg once, and that was enough. This is NOT a Trials machine. If I were really serious about true adventure touring, I'd be looking at 650cc range. When I was watching these guys dig a hole with their rear tire, I was wondering when they would lay the bike over and drag it out of the hole.

All true! I have my s10 for a year now and I'm trully loving it! its a keeper. The Internet is full of misinformation. Just ignore any unsubstantiated bad reviews. the s10 is superb (its my 30th and some) bike. By the way: Great video. This is one of the best s10 videos I've ever watched.

Great footage of the big bike in action. Seems to be plenty of people riding the Tenere like this but the bike is dismissed by the elites.
@BruceSteever6 жыл бұрын
Thank you! As a former 'elite' (assuming you're talking about the various moto-journalist editor-types out there), i can tell you that we most of us loved the big Tenere, but just like other riders, shiny new toy syndrome and - for many, the ad dollars - kept the focus on the latest high-tech Europeans. There's no denying BMW's status in the ADV segment, the KTM's motor, etc. But when push comes to shove, the real world features, reliability, and suspension quality of the Super Ten means we often fought over the keys when doing big ADV multi-bike tests. You can take this with a grain of salt, since i currently work for Yamaha, but it's still one of the best big adventure bikes in the class, especially if "adventure" for you means doing big mileage far away from your high-tech Euro bike dealer...

+Gianluca Colomo I hear ya, but this footage was shot with at least three different camera rigs, so audio was all over the board. Balancing good sounds (engine) with bad (wind noise, mainly) is tough when you didn't plan out a continuous shoot.

I think of it as a versatile dirt and asphalt tourer. I like the Yamaha when I saw it in the dealership as it had a screen, large fuel tank, centre stand and shaft drive. I’ve owned 2 BMW GSs , a Honda XLV750 and Triumph Tiger Trail.

For us non natives you are almost not understandable. More voice volume would be better. The XT is a very comfortable three up bike, which may be additionally overloaded with luggage. She is perfect until you must slow down or even stop in the dirt. A huge pro is that the hand brake works also on the back wheel, means going slowly down a tricky way, you may have your feet down and stay save. (First Edition 2010)

He said 300 miles on a single load of fuel. Mine won't come close to that.
@BruceSteever7 жыл бұрын
In that sort of terrain (hard pack trail at slow speeds), you'll easily be able to top 300 miles. But... at realistic on-road touring speeds, effective range will drop to around 240 miles.

I think so... honestly, this included clips from all over, so i'm not 100% sure. Some of this was from MCN testing, some from the 2014 launch, and some from just tooling around on my own bike.

It was until very recently. I just sold my Super Ten to buy an FZ-10, as i wanted to do more track days. Now i miss the Super Ten, so i'll probably get something more that direction next, like an FJ-09.

Good to know! I'm thinking about adding one to the garage. I'd like something that has some legs for long rides and open spaces and the ES version looks like it ticks all the boxes.... nice boxes, electronic suspension, heated grips, cruise control, shaft drive.
@BruceSteever8 жыл бұрын
I think it's a better tourer than the FJR1300, in many ways. Just spend the extra cash on the 2014+ model. The small changes to the engine and aerodynamics make for a much better bike. And i love the integrated heated grips.

Stock Bridgestone Battle Wings, if you can believe it. The Super Ten will definitely work better in dirt with proper tires, like TKCs or Savas, but we were very impressed just how much abuse we could get away with on the stock tires!
