I actually travelled all the way from Australia to San Francisco to see Mr Bungle in their last concert on their reunion tour in February 2020 was extremely lucky to have seen them as everything shut down around a week after I got home.

If you've ever heard of Faith no More, this is the singer from that band, Mike Patton. As goofy as he might make himself sound sometimes, he has a crazy wide range, often listed as 6 octaves.

Well, faith no more and bungle literally born nu metal, almost every big band in nu metal (korn, soad, deftones, slipknot) were inspired by them just really heavy

Two things really stick out to me with Mr. Bungle songs (let alone the album`s subject matter): their incredible arrangements and just how unbelievably tight they are. Their articulations are exact and when they stop, they are again exact with no note run-over; the spaces are part of the music. Also, check out the underlying crazy syncopated organ riff in this song. It just adds to the song`s sickness.

Mike Patton, the singer, is known to be very experimental. The guy keep creating new band in all genre of music. And Mr Bungle was him and a bunch of amazing musicians trying stuff and being creative. Every songs and albums they made are completely unique. Its worth exploring

I've not listened to everything by Mr. Bungle but they're fun. My favorite song is Carousel. It contains samples from my favorite pinball game that I used to skip out of my community college classes to play, called Cyclone.

When I was a young executive, I would listen to Mr. Bungle all the time in my office, much to the dismay of the support staff. One day I was listening to Disco Volant before an a Webinar (Early days) and they had accidentally unmuted everyone instead of the speaker... Yikes. I was, of course, in the bathroom and the music kept playing over the meeting until the inexperienced assistant got everyone muted again. "Everyone I Went to High School With Is Dead" had caused quite a stir and confusion for the short time it was blasting. 🤣

Slipknot was very much influenced by Mr Bungle at the beginning. Not only with the masks but also musically especially if you listen to "Do Nothing (Bitchslap)" from Mate Feed Kill Repeat with all the jazzy bits and disco parts.

Travolta is the actual original name.they may have had to print "quote unquote" sarcastically on the album notes because the actor's representatives had issue with it.

IIRC Travolta didn't actually sue Warner Brothers, but WB was very aware of the litigious nature of Travolta's Church, so they changed the name before anything bad could happen.

Self titled album is jazzy clown metal which this is from, their Disco Volante album is somehow weirder as some sort of Poe-infused underwater nightmare jazz with rockabilly death metal, and then their California album is them getting older and putting what they've done into something slightly more digestible for the masses.
