Yeah, it happens when you have a huge horde and lure them far away from where they spawned. The zombies will jitter and despawn. When you clear the area then make a loud noise such as shout or use car horn, they will reappear again, seemingly out of nowhere. I've seen it many times on a server that I know where I should avoid, just in case they reappear again.

Keen hearings grants you extra field of vision around your character, once your character gets tired your vision reduces and you won't have much field of vision.

Yeah, something weird happened there, and I believe it wasn't just because you were tired - although I do think it also made it worse, so try to avoid getting that tired again - it makes you most vulnerable.

Tiredness actually makes things in front of you "appear" slower. As in, your character must look in the same direction for a long time before he actually sees them.

the entirety of zomboid's spawning mechanics should be reworked, and very context sensitive. they should also have a quality lore reason for them too, eventually. maybe the default gamemode should have respawning disabled, and respawn enabled for servers and once the player clears louisville or something.

judging by your sleepy moodle being at stage 4 tired. on top of it being teh dark hours, for the fall season, it takes forever for your line of sight to actually notice zombies, as demonstrated here. alos the AI director can give you the middle finger on respawns in open areas, which is still a possibility here, but doesnt seem to be the situation
