It's him and/or Russell. Before 2018, Lando was the anointed one, like Lewis had been through his whole junior career, but Russell kind of came out of nowhere and blitzed the F2 championship while Lando had a decent but slightly underwhelming (by his own admission) season at Carlin. Now both are doing great in F1, although Lando hasn't decisively beaten Sainz, who had arguably been beaten by Hülkenberg; but Russell hasn't had the same competition, facing only Kubica and Latifi. Maybe someday they'll form a Hamilton/Button-type British dream team at McLaren?
