This was a very nice and detailed review. We all have to realize that we are paying 80K upfront. Yes , for another 20K we can step into something European. But after 100,000 miles we will still be enjoying our Acura while the European car is in the shop.

Great review, I own a 22 Type S. I can say the MDX Type S is a well balanced Vehicle. Amazing driving experience.

Feels like bmw or amg for a car as slow as it is, is wild work. It’s not even close to a base x5 as far as speed and this is the fastest engine. Amg would leave this in the dust. No comparison there. Only comparison is in interior quality, looks, and reliability. This isn’t a speed car, but it is luxury.

Acura needs to do this vehicle justice and make it a rwd biased platform. The BMW X5-7, Mercedes GLE, Genesis GV80 and Lincoln Aviator have rwd biased platforms and handle as such and pretty much blow up the competition out the parking lots. If you ever drive a rwd biased suv vs a fwd biased one, you'll feel what I'm talking about. The MDX non the less is a fantastic vehicle its just missing that important element especially in Type S trim ✌🏽♥️

Looks nice but I can’t stand having to lower the middle back seat for the cup holder. Seems cheap. Also never liked the iPad stuck on the dash look.. I prefer the other luxury cars for that price 😃

X5 would be the comparison not the x7 especially this year in size the x5 has a lot more power better fuel Efficiency but the type s definitely looks better exterior wise interior wise they both are really nice

Outrageous i never see any type s.. prices and gas guzzler... they should make a hybrid getting 25 to 28mg and lower priced by $20,000

$20K less is an exageration. But I do agree with you about Acura missing the mark by NOT bringing back their Sport Hybrid (2018-2020) MDX ! For about $1800 more than the Non Hybrid, it was No -Brainer : More HP & Torque than the standard 3.5L engine, and 20% better MPGs! Do I need 355HP for $76K ? No, but that nice HP is inviting. My 22 MDX lease just expired in August, I elected to extend it (Acura Financial allowed me to extend for up to 6 Months). My MDX Advance only has 21K Miles on it! My Buyout is $38,500 NOW - but drops to $35,400 in February 2025. My intention is to Buy it then OR opt for another 25 MDX Advance or Other competitor OR just Keep it for awhile longer. I was hoping the new 25 RDX would introduce the enhancements in the new 25 MDX - but NO they didn't make a refresh to include the new Touch Screen InfoT. system. Come Feburary or later, I would re-look and reconsider a step up to a 25 MDX TYpe S Advance.

Can't compare the type s to an amg or to an x5 or an x5m those are two different animals if they tuned it up pushing 400 hp and more torque than maybe but everyone knows BMW and Mercedes tend to lie about there hp lol

I don't mind timing belts... they are slightly quieter, and easy enough to replace.

i own a 2011 MDX 3.7L +SH-AWD and 300HP, gas guzzler but fun to drive. weird how i test drove the 2023 model new and it felt underpowered and underwhelming on the advance trim. i guess they dont make cars like they used to. my car has 120k miles and still going. Acura does have reliability factor for sure!

The BMW X3 M40i offers significantly more power, making it a fun SUV to drive. Meanwhile, the Acura MDX's exterior remains unchanged and still lacks power.

I wouldn’t compare this to an X3 or X5 because of its 3rd row. Of course the M40i is quicker and more nimble, but comparing to the X7 40i which is more of a direct competitor, both SUVs are surprisingly similar considering the Type s having a $12-15k cheaper base price. The Type s actually feels a little more nimble👍🏼

How many times does this guy say it’s a TWIN TURBO? It’s NOT! It’s a twin scroll SINGLE turbo. I will not be watching any more of his videos. Information cannot be trusted!!
