Excellent review ! You definitely know the product, and covered some features which I had not seen in other videos. The XC90 PHEV is at the top on my list.

Great review - although I would disagree that the R-Design is the "top of the line". There are several features on the Inscription not available on the R, making the fully loaded Inscription the best equipped (and most expensive) model.

The car has a setting to charge the battery while driving, so you can run in EV mode later. Quicker than waiting for the regen breaking to do it. Thanks for review.

Nice review. Thanks for that. I own the exact same 2017 T8 model (50% smaller battery and less powerful EV motor, only 80HP). What amaze me is literally how little has changed overall in 5 years (even 7 years given it was released in 2015). This shows how advanced was this car (positive way of seeing it) or how little Volvo has innovated since (negative way of seing it). Aside from the EV motor and battery, the only upgrade I see it wireless charger (a factory-looking aftermarket one exist for earlier model), and wireless CarPlay (A dongle can add wireless for earlier model too) and the rear USB C ports. On my side I could not be more pleased. This is my favourite car ever, I love the exterior, the interior, the design, the seating, best audio experience, best ergonomics, best safety, best mileage (I average 70miles/gal or 3.3 litres/100km as I do a lot of short journey). If I were to change it I would buy the 2022 version. I am even glad they kept Sensus infotainment instead of the Google version from Polestar.

no engine problems whatsoever in 6/7 years? that's reassuring... I'm so scared of the complexity of this engine.

Thank you, finally someone reviewed this car and the performance. I'd like to see if someone can really Dyno and get the 0-60. I've reserved one and receiving in June

XC90 never had a V6. It had a V8 or straight-6 in this case

As a car reviewer, how did you not know that was for the cargo cover?

R Design is not the Highest Trim Level Inscription was, no for the 2023 year it will be the Ultimate......go back research the vehicle you're reviewing

Not sure why they thought of not having fog lights for this model
@raydennis65832 жыл бұрын
It has to do with the additional cooling system for the battery. The location of the would-be fog light at the passenger side is replaced with air intake and fans for the dedicated cooling system for the battery.

when equally equiped, this suv is 10k-15k more expensive than MDX type S advanced.
@michaeljohnson70442 жыл бұрын
MDX isn't a hybrid, so the two aren't equally equipped. Plus, the dealers are demanding a $6000 additional "convenience" charge over MSRP. The MDX is absolutely not 10-15K less.
@normt4302 жыл бұрын
There is also a full US$7,500 federal tax credit with the larger battery in 2022. On fuelly some ow ers are reporting 70 mpge. While Edmund's longterm 2022 MDX is only getting 18 mpg. Which would you choose?
@michaeljohnson70442 жыл бұрын
@@normt430 great comment. There is no valid comparison.

Slightly confused this is a 2022 with the old infotainment system, shouldn’t this have the google one?
@margauxj-broussel91862 жыл бұрын
Yes. I was surprised too. I am however glad they kept it as I am not keen of the Google / Polestar version. However, it starts showing its age.
@juancarlocruz95012 жыл бұрын
I think the current infotainment is fine as it works with both carplay and android auto. The new one doesn't support carplay.
@slandshark2 жыл бұрын
The 2023 model will have the google version. The current 2022.5 (half year refresh) with extended range kept the old infotainment software for now. My local dealership also called the 2023 XC 90 T8 Recharge Extended range with a different name, something like "XC90 Recharge Plus" or something, only for 2023 and beyond. What I don't like about the current cluster is that the map seems to be forced when in hybrid/ev, meaning you have to have the map on the gauge cluster. I'm hoping this is something you can remove on the 2023 google version.
@bruceleggett5682 жыл бұрын
@@slandshark you can turn that off even in ev/hybrid mode.
