Tampa Bay NOW News at 10 was cancelled at the end of August 2023. As of September 2023, WTOG no longer airs local newscasts as it has been replaced with syndicated programming.

I am seeing that paramount global is just like Nexstar and Sinclair. I would suggest that those media companies focus more on investing in their news departments instead of cutting them. Like, for example, when NEWSFIX Shut down in Dallas Fort Worth, KDAF officially shut their news department down KDAF has not had a 9 PM newscast since the NEWSFIX shutdown down.

Paramount should at least consider re-establishing small but traditional news operations for this station and KSTW, especially to fit with the CBS News NOW format for the non-CBS-affiliated stations. Still, a nice brief look back at WTOG’s news department right up until the CW44 News and News NOW eras.
