Toledo Fire & Rescue Battalion Chief Bryce Blair leads by example, as he's done for his nearly 29 years with TFRD.
"When it comes to picking up hose, a battalion chief doesn't have to pick up hose...but he doesn't not have to either," Blair said. "I like going in and helping the guys and I like picking up the hose."
"I would never ask my men or women to do something that I wouldn't do myself," he said. "It's a cute saying but unless you prove it, it's just a saying."
