The 5:30 to 6:30 Fox Morning News from April 2003, before the Fox 29 switch. The opening theme is Streaming News, but a customized orchestral version not used on WBBM in Chicago. The new them, however, is simply dubbed over the program's original 1997 open; I think that says a lot about where this broadcast fit in the pecking order.
From 1997 to late 2003, WTXF's morning news block was divided into two; Fox Morning News, and Good Day Philadelphia. Fox Morning News was a straight newscast, and used a variation of the graphics and themes recently created for the Ten O'Clock News. Good Day was meant to be a more freewheeling news/features hybrid.
By 2003, this distinction had blurred considerably. With Mike Jerrick gone, Kerri-Lee and Christian Farr anchored a far newsier Good Day that de-emphasized features and banter... essentially a three and a half hour Fox Morning News in form if not name. This is pretty much considered to be the most sub-par era of Good Day.
This newscast shortly became "Fox 29 Morning News". Later that year a new format for Good Day was instituted, making the 5:30-7 portion straight news and returning 7-9 to a more freewheeling format. Despite the distinction being clearer than ever, they just made the whole morning block "Good Day".
