Maybe it's just me, but I can't understand the phase 1 wave patterns you're talking about at all. In fight I have no idea how to tell where they're going to spawn and which direction they're going to go in. This explanation did little to help.

When I play I get those waves where, she shows the pattern and slams immediately after, not even a second delay, do some weird cross formation, she even spawned 4 waves once covering the whole area… not to mention the patterns where the second middle wave is really outside of the circle and the other 2 waves are right at the edge of the circle making it impossible to find a safe spot

The game always notes your position when spawning the waves. The trick around this is to ensure your initial position is right at the edge of the circle, not leaving any significant gap. After many many attempts, I've learned that if you always do that, you can completely avoid the waves from moving from the "outside in". Wudi did not mention this

I have cleared phase 1 like 100 times legit and I can tell you if you stand right on the edge, without leaving any gap, it won't be from the outside in. You can record your runs and review them, which was what I did to learn this trick. But yes if you're not a rogue with dash it is much harder to get across in general

is it just me or the wave pattern has gotten more randomized? there is only about 20% of the chance i can dodge it by going to the opposite side sometimes when i got the the border, the wave spawn behind me (outer to the circle) i got nowhere to go then follow the wave and die or sometimes the side and the center wave are too simultaneous and there is no gap on the side to hide It's not what ive been seen in these kill videos.

@@summonedasher I believe you may be baiting them too late. I was having this same issue where sometimes the waves would spawn randomly on the bottom or something and Id have nowhere to go. I realized that sometimes I was hesitating for a split second when she went in the air and wasnt baiting the waves quickly enough. The SECOND you see her leave the area, go to the bottom of the circle. The game decides where the waves will spawn very quickly after she flies into the air. You need to be really quick to bait it in time

This fight is absolutely ridiculous, I do more then enough damage. There's no point if she just spawns waves of spikes that cover the entire play area. I've gotten the timing down for my flame shield on Sorc to be immune for the first half of the fight, the second half she just does whatever feels right and 1 hits me over and over. This is a very poorly designed boss. There's nothing to learn if there's nothing that can defend against her. This is utterly insane.

Good job at explaining all the mechanics! For everyone wondering how to dash easily no matter which class you play: equip the Metamorphosis Vampiric Ability and have at least 21% movement speed and +3 Evade charges on your boots (and a movement speed aspect which works for your build). Movement speed is key in dodging the waves successfully.

Having sunk some time into this fight as a rogue that's not trying to cheese it I can honestly say it's not worth the hassle. It's absolutely ludriciously overtuned where you have a tiny area that 1 shots you if touch the edge. You have waves that spawn based on your characters position meaning there are very difficult waves that can spawn based on where your character happens to be standing the moment they spawn. You have literally 1 second to move into the correct position once the ground animation flashes up for the waves meaning you need to die upwards of 100+ times just to have the intuition to know where to move baked into muscle memory. Then you have adds during the intermissions that need to be killed that also spawn blood blisters that will 1 shot you if not killed in time ontop of dodging the 1 shot waves and trying to position their spawns correctly. It basically requires perfect play ontop of good luck for around 5-8 mins if you're not cheesing it. Hats off to anyone who beat this legit because it's honestly not easy.

One very important thing about the Phase 1 waves is as long as you stand at the edge of the circle (and I really mean the edge, not leave a gap), then the waves will always spawn as two lines inside the circle going out of the circle towards your position (in which you can do the dash across both lines). If your initial position is not right at the edge of the circle, there is a chance the waves spawn from the "outside in", making the "dash across two lines" technique impossible. Blood boils are tough as a Rogue and yes you need some luck there but try not to be greedy. Prioritize standing at the edge of the circle in order to dodge the waves. Once you got that down you will then have the patience and confidence to try to kill the adds one at a time so it's always two boils at a time. Try not to rush things with the oppressors just to minimize the number of waves. Stand at the edge of the circle at all times, have full confidence in your ability to dash and dodge the waves, and only then you'll have the piece of mind to systematically kill the oppressors one by one (don't twisting blade spam them like in a nm dungeon)

She must have been patched because there is absolutely no tell on the waves now and they are completely random. You MUST have multiple dodges and preferably some immunity to get through stage 2. I can solo every boss in the game with zero effort but UL is impossible for me as my sorc just doesn't have the dodge charges. No boss should have multiple 1-shot mechanics imo.

The floor gets super red sometimes after teleporting out of the arena. It is a glitch. If you stay out of the dungeon for 3 minutes, you will reset the instance and the floor will be white. You can also relog to reset the instance instantly. Be wary of relogging if youre using elixers though, because it wastes the elixer.

I have around 300 tires on Uber Lilith with my Tornado druid I got to phase 2 just several times. For me, this boss is overturned for ARPG boss, and I decided to stop trying and just go back to Diablo 2 until Season 1 is released or Lilith is nerfed. Sure, keep the Echo of Lilith difficulty so hard but at least give me 3-50 more pinacle bosses that I can actually kill after 50 tries.

This fight is unfun with Tornado Druid. Grizzly Rage falls off too quickly with adds. Tornados lose focus because she's constantly off screen. I'm not sure can even stagger with tornado druid.

Great guide. I read multiple text guides but none of them properly explain the mechanics like you did. Seems like a lot of people are not enjoying this boss because it's very hard. That's fair, but personally I actually enjoy practicing for several hours, especially since its free to try. Just beat phase 1 for the first time which feels good. Note for anyone watching in Season 4: Uber Lilith has had her numbers changed significantly such that she will no longer instakill you with most mechanics. However the waves, blood boil explosions, edge of arena damage in phase 1, and (probably, haven't got there yet) the fire zone, skulls and cleave in phase 2 will apply a stacking debuff which increases all damage you take. After 3 or 4 stacks you will instantly die to pretty much anything, so it is still essential to avoid those mechanics, but you can afford 1 or 2 mistakes. I hear she is also significantly tankier than she used to be. I highly recommend getting good gear with tier 2 masterwork. I have 30k hp on my rogue and do 3 million per poison proc once stacked but the fight is still very hard solo.

The fight is cool. The boss is cool, even if she oneshots you with everything. But to take you 200 tries, with your top level player skills and a perfectly built rogue with super speed.. that's a tiny bit too much. At this point she is just wasted content. 99% of the players won't even attempt her (except the ones that use exploits or over tunned shit like bone spear). In Diablo you are supposed to farm the boss, not the other way around. That medium version of her (you mentioned) sounds more like Diablo. A version that only the lvl 100's can even attempt. But a version that maybe 10% of those lvl 100 characters manage to beat. The prestige is still there but it doesn't consume your soul in the process. Thank you so much for the wisdom and the tips.

Wish you also give some advise for console users. Those manoeuvring reflexes seems at significant disadvantage if not impossible when using controller instead of mouse. Challenge : survive this by using controller, no M&K. I withdraw the request of challenge, it will be too much to you. Unfair. Will set back future content creation. Sincerely hope someone can point me at a direction for a D4 content creator using console who defeat Uber Lilith legitimately. That will be great. 😅 (Update After struggling to dance with the 1-shot waves for a month, I finally defeated Uber Lilith using PS5….. by skipping all her 1-shot mechanics. As discussed with other content creator, such cheesy way was not an exploit, it’s what Rogue good at…. and the gears took me several weeks to farm. Those were not god tier but still took a long time for unlucky me to target farm. And it was not 100% success rate. The RNG was apparently under those legitimate descriptions of all mechanics…. except the max damage dealt (~38M for me). But this one is not only rogue, it’s still an unknown to me for most classes/builds. If anyone find a calculator showing the Max Dmg Dealt, please kindly let me know. the wave patterns in phase 1 are totaly diffrent in my fight OO i got 6 waves, 2 in the middel, 4 at the sides, in diffrent directions, the seconed middel wave is behind the first...so i have no room to dodge, i only manage to get to phase 2 by having 6 times invulnerable. i see the waves in this video and see options to dodge...but i don´t have patterns like this

the fight is trash for most people because either you completly burst her down ignoring her mechanics cause you are too strong or you dont have a crazy build and it takes ages of playing perfectly for her to go down. It should be in the giant easy to hit middle area of both poles obviously but balance is trash as of right now so even though I wanted to kill her before season 1 hits I put the game down today and will just wait what balance changes come soon

I have 290 pulls on her so far and have got her to P2 half HP only like 8 times. Its a tough fight by itself but adding the dogshit hitboxes and RNG, it makes it that much harder. Edit: killed her today at 295 pulls after switching to combo points from inner sight 🤷‍♂️

I have thought long and hard about my paragon board, making sure to maximize vulnerable and crit and have pretty good equipment at level 100 as well as a few aspects that boost damage - yet I can hardly kill her blister before it explodes with my HOTA barb. Barb is not a good class going against her. Barb is tanky but damage not as good as other classes. Uber Lil mostly one shot everyone which renders tanky barb useless.

Barbs and druids are never going to do as much dmg as rogue and sorcerer, but this is compensated by being tankier. but with so much of this fight being a 1 shot mechanic, it defeats the purpose. When the Boss contains this many 1 shots, it just means they could not be bothered to design and balance her right. Shame as i think it has the potential to be a fun fight.

She doesn't seem to do any cold or lightning damage. Some poison in phase 2. So you can get rid of cold and lightning. I think she does fire and definitely does shadow damage though. You can trash gear with lightning or cold resist. Should probably mention she shouts before tri attack. As soon as you see the shout run lmao

Finally figured out why the waves are so bad. The programming is crap. It checks if it's a hit by seeing if any pixel from your toon overlaps with any of the spikes. Perspective changes if you get hit or not. If the spikes are behind you, you die. If the spikes graphics are on front of your toons in the layers, you die. This is freaking hit box armature hour at Blizzard. When the perspective goes shallow, the likelihood of being hit are significantly higher.

15 mil in gear repairs, and I’ve still never survived a single wave attack that I wasn’t invulnerable for. I seriously don’t get it. 1.5 hrs spent watching mechanics videos, full glyphs, full upgraded gear, lvl 100, finished paragon board. Feel like the only answer is to build ball Lighting so you can melt her and skip phase 1. Idk man this has just lost its appeal as “fun”. In phase 1 she keeps doing an attack where she forms a triangle of spikes and she pounded in the center of that triangle and kills me. Literally when she’s 1 hit and I’m losing my mind

I was happy just beating Elias. Then i saw this video. I'm pretty sure my glass cannon sorcerer has no chance. She's all nimble and high offense but defense is highly lacking. I guess I'll move on to a new game now... Maybe BG3 🤔

Perhaps stupid question, but why is his battle area so bright? For me the outer circle and inner circle is basically the same shade of dark during phase 1, making it really hard to see the waves.

figured it out from a different youtube video. Apperently Blizzard do not know how to do HDR properly, and that was the issue for me.

@@cassurai What I did was just turn HDR off in Graphic settings, and then turn the brightness up a bit. There are quite a few videos talking about the issue if you search "HDR diablo 4"

@@cassurai Hmm, forget about that. Apperently it is also just a bug with Lilith, and you need to restart the game if the battle area remains dark.

I always die on a sweep in the second phase with platform crumble. Either the wave hits me or I just crumble with the platform.

Honestly i beat her first try with my level 47 Necro. Now i was world tier 1 cause i know if i waited to level 50 she would've been more hard and stronger. So anyone struggling it could be that. Also my gear had life regeneration , resistance to all elements and fortify generation which would create a barrier for me every 90 secs. Just some advice cause all these KZbinrs are saying be level 50-75 or 100. No that making her alot more difficult for no reason cause the higher your level the stronger the monsters/bosses are. Plus i haven't played a Diablo game aince the very first one but now I'm almost level 50 and i did the capstone and defeated Lilith just some advice from a Noob

man i tried her today with lvl 82 so I dont 1 shot her but man this fight is complete garbage. not only is the zoom buggy the patterns are regulary messed up so it is impossible to dodge the color pallet of the telegraphs might aswell be invisible with spell effects iam basically blind In p2 i die just randomly and cant even see what is killing me possibly the worst fight I have seen in any game

Yea, the waves in the 2 inline going forward and 2 outer going back sequence does NOT function in that fashion here, idk if its bc you're on PC or not, but for me; it's a no win situation. Not sure if it's a bug or what but, swear to god, the 2 inline going forward and 2 outer going forward, yup; all in the same direction, every time that sequence pops. I can get her to 1% no problem but that sequence comes up every time be it the first, 2nd, 3rd or 4th during final stand for me so I always just die. Shoot me

I love the game, but I hate this fight because it's so badly telegraphed. You have no idea where the waves are gonna spawn and in what direction they're gonna go.

I haven’t been on that toon in a long time (sorc, barb recently). If memory serves right I got her main stat, I believe intelligence, to 1200 and HIGH lucky hit. Make sure you have the gloves equipped and the godseeker helm. DMG is way higher with it. Phase two is a little rough with infimimist but very doable once you learn where to stand

Also it took me awhile to realize it. But make sure you’re not wasting your corpses. The gloves of howl can make them run past her when she phases. You will need every puddle!!!. Without the gloves some puddles won’t even hit her. I do recall it took a many many many wipes before I noticed it. When she goes up and comes back down she should land in the puddles. At that point you should just be spamming corpse explosion…. She dies and on to phase 2. I’ll be honest though it took me along time! Barb can easy mode this with crap gear…. Sorc a little harder but still cake. Worst part is the bugs and glitching. Happy hunting

Can get her to phase 2... It's been a struggle to dodge *and stay in the circle* on Xbox. I'm sure point/dash on PC is nice. Tried on PC but my muscle memory in Xbox controls isn't letting me comfortably figure it out...

You dont need to dash if its making it more difficult. I am fighting her on barb and I have more than enough time to just run through the center and get behind the second wave. 155% movement speed

How much movement speed do you need to outrun skulls? I'm at 125.5% with four evade charges plus teleport and I can't out run them. Also, how long before they dissipate? I've made it around the arena twice and their still chasing me.

i came from lostark and this boss fight feels so disgusting i dont know where to start. The worst are the hitboxes, the visual clutter and the bad movement in D4 overall.

Did this fight on my Rogue pretty easy. Barb was harder. Softcore tho. I really dislike the P1 waves simply because they can get very bugged during add phases on top of being one shot moving mechs. Hopefully Blizzard will fix the bugs and adjust these waves to give more pleasant experience while learning. I did not enjoy the fight and the acomplishments of killing her were less than even in D2 boss fights cause the content is just so unbalanced right now. We see some classes one or two shot her doing zero mechs. While other classes and certain builds have no chance in hell to get close to it. It's a sign of a bad boss when you are forced to do it one or 2 ways or it is simply not doable. This Lilith fight is actually the main reason why I have no real interest to play seasons in D4 - cause it obviously is going to be just 1 shots mechs for almost all classes and builds rather than good variety of ways to enjoy the content.

I would like to add here - after talking to quite a big group of RL friends with different obligations and time to play D4. Blizzard did make a big mistake by this high tuning on Lilith. Many of my friends can see they will never kill her in this stage - and therefor, are not even going to bother with getting to lvl 100. Most of them will not play the game after season 1 as well for same reason. Different colour mechanics on Rings and neckies are zero interest. And most are just quitting now with bitter taste and unfun memories of Diablo 4. Having Uber Lilith as a REWARD fight at the end of reaching 100 would have pushed many players further into the late game. And also would not have created this uber focus on balance issues that are obviously gonna be major problem for the game for seasons to come. The next nerf phase will be VERY interesting for the game. Cause we all know it is coming. And the devs seem to have gotten so many things wrong that the playerbase have a very hard time forgiving them for the state of the game atm.

I can quickly get her to like 60% HP, but after that mayhem starts... She starts doing waves, one after another... Ive seen her doing that 4 times in a row, couldt get any further to see, how many times before she lands so i can dmg her...

did they change something so you can't just mega dps to skip the waves? Before I just powered her down and moved on to phase 2 without the spike waves but now even if I completely kill her health bar down she'll still jump up and do it before transitioning.
