It is not the best Chinese movie, although I would say that it is very visually stunning and the cinematography is very precisely filmed. The flaw of this movie lies in its rather fantastic plot which has no need to really make a statement and thrives merely on the special effects and martial arts choreography.

Kevin Jang So you are Korean? Do you any recommendations on good Korean or Chinese films? I really enjoyed Old Boy (Original ver.) And I really like Korean & Japanese horror. I love the psychological approach rather than the "in your face, BOO!" Hollywood attempts.

Hi Roman, I also really enjoy Korean movies after I first saw Old boy, and it has since become probably my favorite movie. Since then I've watched several other Korean movies, including the two other movies of the "Vengeance Trilogy" by Old Boy director Chan-Wook Park: "Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance" and "Lady Vengeance" which are both really good in my opinion. Since then I compiled a short list of Korean movies that I either liked or want to watch in the future. So if you want, you can check it out. www.imdb.com/list/ls066333492/ Apart from Korean movies I also watched one Japanese Drama / Thrille called "Kokuhaku" about a grieving mother that seeks revenge. Also well worth seeing! Edit: I highly recommend "Sinsegye" from my list ;) That movie is superb.
