In my opinion is the best way to learn D&D! Joining a table as a spectator is the best way for sure! I was always allowing people to come and see and I will keep doing that!

We totally agree on that! Hopefully most people will do the same and even more new players will keep joining the community! 💕

Different times! Oh my, we're old... 😅 I still tell them how they wouldn't let me join back then ☹️ But now they can't get rid of me 😁😁😁

I believe everyone before 3rd edition start playing like this! Of course now you can see streams, videos etc... but I believe the best way is to join and see a season or two!

Aye that's true too, it was even harder in the past to explain without showing how it really works! The streams help a lot, absolutely, but watching in person is priceless!

D&D 5th edition is much simpler in terms of rules and gameplay, than the older versions, like 3 that I started playing at. Even though the game is designed to be much more direct and easier for new players, the rules are still much more than a simple board game. The spectator idea is great, and in fact could really help someone to have a first look on what D&D looks like. I usually have new players, playing a simple martial character, with only explaining the very basics of D&D just before the session begins, and then help them in-game. Those who like the game even when they know only 1% of it, they will follow and start reading and investing time in the game. I really love the experience of bringing new players in this wonderfull game and this idea of spectating might proove very helpful! Thanks for this awesome video

A massive YES to all of that 😁 5e is indeed simpler but still very complicated compared to most usual board games. Even the concept of a TTRPG for someone completely new to this is extremely hard to explain, let alone the rules 😅 And we also love bringing new players to the world of D&D so we try to find ways to make it easier for sure! Thank you for the support, this comment truly expresses how we feel too ❤️

Great tips for both being a spectator and inviting them to the table!

I recently started playing again after an almost 20 year hiatus because life got in the way. The game I joined live streams and I thought that would make me uncomfortable and self conscious. But I found that once I was comfortable with the people in the room I was able to open up and enjoy myself.

Yes I think it's also a matter of practice for sure! And that's a huge scale too, compared to having the occasional spectator at a home game! But of course each person has a different level of comfort with different situations so it's always just a suggestion for those who don't mind it or who are up to try it 😃

1. Stand/ sit at the end of table away from the DM. 2. Raise your hand, or whisper your question to the player who has been assign to you. 3. Stay on topic.

Playing D&D is stupidly easy, specially if you're given a sheet. If you want to play the game, play the game.
