jukeboxes of the 50s and 60s are beautiful pieces of engineering , i so wish my lookout house was big enough to fit one in. thankyou for sharing

Thank you Kevin !!! I just love hearing all these various mechanical hums and sounds and seeing all the movements of these mid 20th century very complex electro - mechanical machines !!! i mean i would just be happy to have an old rotary dial phone disconnected . I could spend hours holding it, walking around the house with it or sitting in my lap, just listening to the mechanical sounds inside and putting some effort into my hand and fingers for a change . what great therapy that would be ! today i think we all get stressed touching these oh too sensitive screens on phones and ipads and the like all the day and/or night long .

Thanks for the kind words. I've been learning for 30yrs, and I'm still learning. But it's not all self-taught. I have a 2yr degree in Electronics, a BS in Computer Sci, an MS in Systems Engineering, and I was a machinest for 6yrs. Combining these skills gives me the ability to repair both electrical and mechanical systems. The key is to never stop learning. Even if you only take one class per semester at your local community college. Eventually it will pay off. Good luck, -KK

Their upright mechanisms were so loud. But still my favorite Wurlitzers.
@keinert14 жыл бұрын
Hi Ed, your problem is that the lifting arms are coming up too high. There is an adjustment that lowers the arms so they stop sooner. The action of clamping of the record onto the turntable should lift the record up off the lifting arm. Read the Service manual, it will explain this adjustment. Good luck, Kevin.

Hi Kevin. I have a working 2700 but need to move it. Do you have any tips to safely transport this specific machine? I would like it to still be working once moved. Lol. I will be using a pickup truck to transport it. Heard it's not good to lay them on their backs? Thanks for the informative videos.
@keinert3 жыл бұрын
correct, do not lay it down! You should be ok if you treat it gently and it doesn't see any hard jolts or bumps during transport. Good luck!

Hi Kevin, thanks for all your Wurlitzer videos! Very instructing!The part about the clamping is what I am looking for. My wurlitzer 3310 does not clamp any records after it was adjusted to take the records back after playing.. the clamping, it worked the first 3 times I started the jukebox, but the records would not ''eject after playing. Now they do, nut no clamping, so the needle does not touch the record... Do you know what I should do? Is there a way to adjust the clamping?Thank you!!

Sorry, I'm unable to diagnose most problems without seeing the machine in person.
@juliemc9209 жыл бұрын
+Kevin Keinert Ok, it is a bit far :) I was wondering if you came across this issue, and what you did or what to look for when this occurs. As far as everything else, it takes the correct selection, gets it up there and get it back down when I put the arm down to fake the record is over.. I am a bit lost but there is not anyone near that repairs these beauties..

I use an electronics grade "flux solvent" that you can't buy anymore because it contains chemicals which were found to damage the ozone layer. When I'm all out, I'll look for a water soluble degreaser. -KK

Got a 2710 that the carousel occasionally does not always line up and causes the load arm to jam! Any idea of the problem?
@GameRoomRepaircom5 жыл бұрын
One possible cause is slop in the carousel drive mechanism due to worn out mechanical components. But there could be many other causes. Hard to tell without seeing it in person.

@@GameRoomRepaircom Did notice that when it "throws a record", the tooth is not engaged with the backstop pawl. Isn't the motor supposed to reverse so as to engage the pawl?

Hello, it's been so long ago that I worked on this, that I can't remember specifically. But you have one of two problems: Either the record reject/trip mechanism is mechanically stuck in the "reject" position, or the electrical signal to trigger the reject is alway on. Good luck, Kevin

Problem will be either in the selector mechanism contacts, or in the latch solenoid switches of the selector button assembly. You need to get the schematics and find someone who knows how to read them. Good luck, Kevin.
