Protecting the life of lgbtq students? What a joke. So now teaching children of 5 years old about sex, when the cant even read is gonna save the lifes of lgbtq. And suicide and drugs is a real problem that has noting to do with lgbtq, but I guess the whole world now has to evolve around the very small minority of lgbtq. Parents do their hardest for their children they do what's right for them they want them to be better than they were to be successful in life. But kids are getting influenced by this and it's not the parents faults. Children see stuff on YT and other platforms and they are told that if you go to your parent's they will hate you for life, well of course it will be hard for the parents and really hard for religious parents but at the end of the day parents love you no matter what. Ik it might not be the case with everyone but hiding the identity of a child and not telling the parents it's wrong. Children shouldn't have to worry about what everyone else is identifying as.

​@@vicom134 let's look at this from a scientific and logical standpoint. As a student of science who follows modern science, there is NO gay gene, meaning that it's not a genetic predisposition. That leaves the psychological, and humans are known for choosing their mates in a way more advanced than animals via emotional and intellectual connection, aka, a choice was made. Therefore being gay IS a choice, as is religion. If religions aren't allowed to force their values into schools, why should the LGBTQIA be allowed to do what they cannot? I stress again, everything the LGBTQIA stands for isn't accounted for with genetics (excluding their inclusion of the black community...which has naught to do with sexuality), and is mainly psychological. It's a choice, a lifestyle, not a constant (which should be obvious given the fact that gender identities can be fluid)

As a public school teacher, I will agree, schools and governments do not own the children. We borrow them in 10 month increments over the course of many years, but that is it. If a child commits a crime or becomes very ill, we don’t take responsibility for that child’s needs, the parents do. We aren’t loosing sleep or figuring out the legalities or treatments, because that is not really our child. That child belongs to their parents. We need to respect that, especially when we disagree.

​@Toohamoe hey! Parent of school-age kids chiming in. What @777neverfeartruth3 said is true. I used to love putting together goodie bags for my kids' classes and the little dance party's. My kids are just in 5th and 10th and they haven't been able to for several school years. "Back then" the teachers would send out notes about whatever party or event and those parents that didn't want their kids to participate would pick them up early or they would do something different. As far as school goes, things have definitely changed.

I taught my chldren to be incluive and non-judgmental and to see people as people until they poke you with a fork. Difference is, religion is a choice, being lgbtqa+ is not. Parents have the right to opt THEIR children out of something being taught that goes against their moral or religious beliefs- that should remain being taught at home. Parents don’t give up their rights as parents because their children go to public school-whose tax dollars go to fund said public school. THIS!!!! That's the core of the problem! I disagree with the current curriculum but it's an even bigger issue here - taking the control away from the parents and giving it to the state. OUR children are OUR children, for the good times and the bad. We will have to be here for our kids no matter the costs, the people trying to impose these rules are with our kids for a year or 2, maybe in the same school for their education but those same teachers/ admin will not be the ones responsible for the child 15 years from now. They won't be accountable for the long term outcomes. Why are the feelings of a minority group that consists of 0.1% of the population more important than the rest of the population that is 99%? Make it make sense, why are we making sure these people are safe and serviced before any other person. Ummm yes we should, we are the majority and the majority should always have say. We are already accepting of these groups and have been for years, but they want more and more and more and it's being pushed into parts of our lives where it isn't even needed! This is why people are getting prejudice towards gay and trans communities, because we aren't being given a choice but are being FORCED to accept them. To the point where it's being forced into our entertainment, health care, school system and kids lives in general. It's effecting women's way of life and general safety by prioritizing trans rights. For example a 19 year old man dressed up as a woman and entered a girls highschool bathroom. The man raped a 15 year old girl in the bathroom, when the guy got arrested the school board covered up the story and hid it from the other parents. Why did they cover up this story that ALL parents should of been aware of? Because they didn't want the trans rights taken out of the school, they didn't want the trans community seen in a negative way in that school board. So that school board rather risk young girls getting raped just in case there is ONE trans person in that school that might want to use the girls bathroom, that might get their feelings hurt using the boys bathroom, that might have a crazy parent try to sue the school board and blast the story online. The parents in this case lost their mind and attempted to go after the school as they should have. If my daughter was raped because the school wasn't protecting her and then they attempted to hide the crime after in order to protect trans "women" I would be in prison right now for slaughtering the entire staff and burning the school to the ground. What's crazy is if you search online this has happened A LOT all over America. Trans "women" or men pretending to be trans committing crimes on women, rape mostly and other abuses. This is not the trans communities fault but it is an issue criminals are taking advantage of and it needs to be addressed, not hidden and ignored in an attempt to salvage the community's image. People are more than willing to be accepting of trans people but certain things need to be compromised for children and other sensitive areas and they are fighting every step of the way as if it's some big injustice.

I remember our interior decorator as a kid named Bill. He was an amazing man. He was the first openly gay person I’d ever met. He was always happy. He was a bit of a showboat and loved to sing songs for musicals. When she was with Bill when he’s come over to visit, non decorator stuff, mom was all gushy. When he left she would trash him. And I would constantly call her out! Did mom turn gay just because she was around him? Of course not! But she never had the education as a child who was born in the thirties had to be taught by me, a kid at the time to stop trashing Bill in private! When Bill was left alone with dad, because of no education when he was a kid, born in the 20’s I watched him cringe and be all drama king about it. It sickened me! No, dad wasn’t gonna turn gay just because he was around him. When everyone was in the room, then dad had no problem with Bill. When Bill’s unapproving father passed away Bill was forbidden to go to the funeral. But his stripper sister, no problem. My point is, despite my parents apparent ignorance, they had no problem with me or my brother being around Bill. He was gentle, sweet, funny as heck and very sensitive. My brother and I didn’t suddenly turn gay because we were around Bill. As a matter of fact when he would mention that his boyfriend kept beating him I was the only one, AS a kid, to tell him to leave him! I liked Bill as a friend and didn’t want anything to happen to him. He eventually did. Bill NEVER talked about his sex life. But is this what these parents are so ignorantly afraid of? Oh no if my kid learns about trans or LGBTQ+ or meets one they’ll be converted? taken into a darkened room and shown Porn movies about it? How stupid! Doesn’t happen! Well we can’t have our kids supporting these people if they know about them! What is suppose to me? Accepting that other people exist! They have the right to exist! Supporting someone to me NOT being a bigot. Understanding that LGBTQ or anyone else have the same thoughts, dreams, likes, dislikes as you, why is that so darn threatening! How far parents want to keep their kids ignorant as them! Oh no! awe can’t have kids having sex education for instance! My goodness! If we taught kids how their bodies worked, talked about what happens when puberty hits, tell them how babies are made, talk about contraception oh. Oh no they’ll be doing it non stop! That’s parents ignorance! When I was in school I never knew gays exist or LGBTQ+. There was no word for it back then. So when I met my first trans I was a bit confused. And that person was nice to me even though all they did was take my information when I met them as an intake person at an ER. Being exposed to them didn’t turn me trans. Where did I learn about periods? NOT from school! NOT from my parents but at a day camp when I was nine! Hat were my parents so afraid of telling me how my body would change! We’ll I don’t know why that day camp talked about periods. But you know what I’m glad they did! When I got my period at 13 I knew what would happen and why and I wasn’t afraid! Nor am I ashamed to talk about it because I was taught it was nothing shameful TO talk about! I didn’t make me run around shoving Kotex up everyone’s nose. Being around our gay interior decorator didn’t turn me gay. I loved Bill as a friend. Know who had more of a problem with the idea of being gay? My hypocrite parents who invited him over, laughed and talked with him, then trashed him in private that I stopped so they’d be better examples of better human beings! Ignorant parents don’t want their kids learning about anything they don’t want to know. How dare they want their kids dumbed down! Parents stupidly think if their kids know about trans or gay they be it, and their kids who are already gay and trans have enough trouble because the outside world thinks that treating them like dirt is normal! Parents who refuse to love their kids unconditionally are hurting not helping because they insist on their kids being just as stunted as they are! Parents can’t stop the real world! Their kids will meet straight and gay and trans. Knowing that they’re just as human isn’t force, it’s reality. I’m glad that day camp told me about periods and puberty at only nine. My parents sure as heck refused to and there was no education about this in school. When puberty hit, I wasn’t scared. Because I was exposed to Bill our gay interior decorator, I learned they existed. It was Bill who taught me without realizing that he was just like everyone else. He didn’t go around stripping! He didn’t go around telling his sex life! He didn’t go around showing Porn. But because he felt comfortable did he reveal his boyfriend beating him how do I cope and I told him leave. I wanted him to be safe. He was my friend! Oh we can’t teach about LGBTQ+ or trans in school, but no one has a problem with teaching a kid how to shoot a gun when he’s in first grade? Excuse me? I went to a private girl’s school for high school that I had to work my butt off to get into with grades. We had foreign kids. El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, England, American kids who came from Saudi Arabia because of their dad’s work, a girl born American but living in Israel whose problems aren’t new. And a lot of girls from Iran. NONE a of them were like you see on the news today. Since then I’ve met a Jordanians, Arabs, an Egyptian and his family who treated me like family and everyone else when he ran my corner store, I’ve met more Pakistani, and for the first time Palestinian. NONE a of them were the villains shown on TV. I supported every one of them for their differences, I learned about their religions, I couldn’t have cared less what their sexuality was. Are parents scared of them? Don’t want their kids to learn that the bad ones are their own group and not these? Learning about others is a good thing! Learning about others existence when you’re a kid is a good thing! Learning about how your bodies work in school is a good thing! It’s parents who want their kids to be as narrow minded and as ignorant as them makes me sick! People of other colors exist! Why is that a threat to learn that in school! Learning that people have different sexualities exist! Why is that a threat to learn about in school because you the parent think everything with that is only Porn! Why is kids seeing people in drag so threatening! Kids care about story time not what clothes you’re wearing. Adults have trouble with drag and want to infect their kids with their prejudice! Why is learning about different religions so threatening to parents with their kids. It’s adults who think terrorist run the whole religion and want their kids to be just as paranoid as them about different religions while exploiting their own religion to teach hate, intolerance, stereotypes of others! It’s adults who refuse to grow up and want to limit their kids to their limited bubble! Opting out? Great! YOU opt out of learning what this video is about. But you don’t have the right to force others to opt out! Forcing kids to learn this stuff? It’s not force at all. The only force I see are the frightened ones wanting others to join them! To be as limited as you! I donKt think there should be any opt outs. These things exist in life! Parents should stop forcing their kids to be as ignorant, narrow minded, limited as them. Progress is letting your kids learn that there’s a big world out there filled with people who look different than you, have different religions than colors than you, and yes have different sexualities as you. Supporting is another name in my mind as the Golden Rule! Treat others as you would have them treat you! You can’t do that if you insist on cocooning you’re kids in a limited bubble because as adults they’re encounter others. They’ll not be clones of you. You can either accept that it exists or you can move into a cave surrounded by the limited you, you and you! But don’t drag your kids in with you!
