Like, wanting to make people call you by made up pronouns like xey/xer or what have you is silly and illogical, I agree. But you can actually refer to a single individual by they/them and its grammatical correct, even if said usage isn't the most common so people tend to forget it already existed before the whole gender debate became more prevalent.

Dude there's tons of grammar rules the average person doesn't have the slightest clue about, because you don't need to know. Doesn't mean the thing in question isn't still a valid and correct usage. Like with all kinds of things, if your knowledge in a particular field isn't extensive, you shouldn't be arguing so vehemently. And when someone does point out something you thought about the thing is actually incorrect, you should learn the lesson and move on, instead of insisting that you're in the right, when the evidence is absolutely against you. And this doesn't just concern the pronoun and grammar thing alone anymore. People just need to let people be people, man.

That nowadays "College kids are like "I'm ready to protest, but idk why yet"" is so real. At my friend's college, the LGBT community asked to introduce a rainbow zebra-crossing/cross-walk for the college to be more inclusive, and the college provided. Now they're protesting that people are walking over their flag, and they're saying it's "disrespectful" for anyone who isn't a part of the community to use it as they consider it "opression" by "stepping on the flag". So basically, if you just want to WALK ACROSS THE ROAD, you're considered a "Facist". Wow, I never expected for >200 people to like this comment. I'm happy you all agree that this is pure and utter nonsense. For a bit of further context to this situation, the college itself that my friends attend doesn't seem to help itself either. It has already bought into all the pride stuff as requested from the LGBT community, i.e Flags everywhere, zebra-crossing/cross-walk (as mentioned) etc etc, and there is no going back or they will recieve major backlash. One of the major advocates of the LGBT group involved in the cross-walk thing was a former classmate of mine (now he is a "trans woman" and any mention of his life within the past 6 years of me being his classmate is erased and prohibited from mentioning) before we finished second level education. This is how my friends told me this was happening, as we all knew him and get usual updates of all the bs that is going on and what they're protesting about. Name changes on ID cards, demanding respect to pronouns, bathrooms, inclusive language, all that. It's the usual bs, but it's too much. Feel free to ask anymore questions about this. It's interesting you say that as (for context only) I am ace. I remember years back a friend who identified as queer state I was, by default, queer for being ace and part of the LGBT+ automatically (this friend was very inclusive and warm, as you can gather.) I had never thought of myself as queer (I honestly had not thought much on it, but I could see how either way of looking at it could make sense.) Anyway, did some digging and learned there was a LOT of infighting in the LGBT+ While there are many warm and welcoming people associated with it, I came across many who also did not want certain orientations to join (many spoke about people who could mask as straight and said that they would not be subjected to the same degree of bullying etc. and therefore "shouldn't quality" (I personally don't care...it's more the level of anger some people display towards others that also don't fit the typical mould.) Later, in my 20s, I was looking at an ace page out of curiosity (forum for people who identify as asexual) and I didn't see any squabbling, really, ever on the AVEN sites. Mostly a lot of talking about fictional characters who they thought could be ace, and more talk about their interests in general, and meet up board game groups and such. It had a very different feel. I remember reading a couple posts where some new members said they had tried to join an LGBT chat but they felt harassed or "pushed out" and so left. A couple used a term similar to your sister....mafia, or gang, or something. So yeah, I think there is a lot of infighting. I have heard that from others.

We have this issue with diversity at work, since race and gender is mostly visible, the alphabet community can’t work out how to ensure diversity since you cannot “see” sexual preference. It’s actually quite funny. They also talk about preventing discrimination against alphabet people, and everyone is like, “How do people know?” Bias isn’t a thing if no one knows. That’s why you can’t ask people in interviews, except asking people in interviews is what the alphabets want to do. So, to fight bias you want to remove the law that prevents bias?
