In music, there are very few artits that break the mold and create their own thing within a genre. Method Man talks about all of the rock influences that he had in mind when creating this song, and yet, it STILL sounded like a whole new thing - because it is. He was a kid when he wrote this too! Genius, plus everyone in Wu-Tang was distinct and talented. Not sure if they are in the Hall of Fame, but they should be.

ROCK? WHAT RACE YOU?
@smartalix52959 ай бұрын
@nathanielrichardson9817 so, not sure what my race would have to do with it, but there are other artists in there who aren't technically in the rock genre, A LOT in fact. This isn't all of them, but this is just a small sample of the non-rock artists who are in there (plus two of them are rappers): Neil Diamond, Miles Davis, Ray Charles, Dick Clark, Louis Armstrong, Johnny Cash, Arethra Franklin, Earth Wind and Fire, Grand Master Flash, Chet Atkins, Eminem, Joan Biaz, Harry Bellefonte and Janet Jackson. Honestly, I think there should be something that holds that much clout, but is for Rap, but the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame is more about the contribution to modern music, more than it is about being full on rock. Anyway, Tne Beastie Boys are in the Hall of Fame, and while a person could argue they are pop, they absolutely are not rock. They are rappers, they may not be in the lineup in terms of your average true rap fan's favorite, but they are rappers, and Eminem is definitely a rapper, and he is also in it - now, you could argue the fact that they are white, and while I agree that likely is why they are in there over a say NWA, who should be in there over either of the other two, there are black artists in there who aren't in rock or even pop. I didn't add all of them to the list, but you'd be surprised by some of the names on there who aren't rock artist at all. Really, I think at this point they could change the name to the Music Hall of Fame, and just include seminal artists who deserve to be honored regardless of what genre they belong to. There are some names in the Hall Of that I personally don't understand, like Dick Clark. I get Barry Gordy, but Dick Clark makes ZERO sense to me.

They still do if you follow the right people. Denzel Curry and JID come to mind
I think when people make this statement - they are from this era. There were a LITANY of Emcee’s than warranted praise for their talent and gifts. They were passionate about their lyrics and the lyrics reflected such. Now? There are a handful that view rhyming as a craft; that could actually endure like the artists of the late 80s and 90’s…I grew up on Wu, Rakim, Big Daddy Kane, MC Lyte…and artists today don’t even compare to what was. Even pure lyricists of old say the same of the artists of today. Back then you didn’t have to sift through SOOOO much junk to get to the good stuff…Now? Completely different story.
@619jazzaАй бұрын
@@nicoleweeden4837 I definitely think that priorities shifted towards production and rap catapulted to the most dominant genre so became infused with pop in a lot of ways. However for someone like me who took interest in rap around 2015 it doesn’t feel like sifting. The internet has also widened who can make a living in rap creating lots of pockets and sun genres that do not rely on mainstream routes to fame. Artists like Earl Sweatshirt, JID, Denzel Curry, MIKE, Vince Staples, Benny the Butcher, Boldy James, Kendrick Lamar, Mick Jenkins, Doechii are still lyrical and are varying degrees of mainstream. But there’s also room for experimental rappers, pop type rappers, RnB infused rappers, old school rappers etc.

Most talented rapper of the group when talking about pure flow freestyle skill. This track is jst a perfect song from second 1, the beat hits hard and the raw method freestyle is just AAA+

I have an important story. One day I was driving home, when all of a sudden the Lord came to me in spirit. I felt very close to Him. I knew if I asked him to play any song on the radio he would, I guess to bless my faith. So I said "ok, Lord play "Come as you are by Nirvana". I turned on the radio and the song started playing right there on the spot, perfectly… I started getting flooded with chills like a waterfall, crying, and trembling. He stayed with me for 10 minutes in my driveway. until I got outta the car. A couple months after that I started getting amazing prayers answered way more often, because it helped me quit doubting when I pray and I was lined up with biblical instructions. It's 6 years later and I still get answered prayers in Jesus name.
