Hareton is my favorite character, probably because he's one of maybe two or three good people in the book. Not that there's anything wrong with anti-heroes. They rock, too.
@RockPunkEmo18 жыл бұрын
Anti-heroes???? If you are referring to heathcliff then he is no anti-hero. He is a true villain
@nancyhey10124 жыл бұрын
I agree, because the older Cathy and Heathcliff were not really very likable characters. We know that Heathcliff could be very cruel and violent, and Cathy could be selfish. But Hareton and the younger Cathy were mostly innocent victims of Heathcliff’s revenge against the Linton family. One hoped that their relationship would turn out a lot more happy than Cathy and Heathcliff’s.

Yes that voice.. :D It's truly the kind of voice that you could listen to all day long no matter what it was that he'd be saying - reciting poems, novels, the english encyclopedia etc..

My favorite scene. Apart from that where Catherine kissed Hareton when she wished to be his friend (but they didn't include this here)

Thank you for uploading. The music by Warren Bennett contributed significantly to this remarkable adaption for it was in touch with every emotion as the story progressed.

I'm dying of love 😍😍. Hareton is my favorite character and Matthew Macfadyen the love of my life
@bellatiini15 жыл бұрын
He was loyal to Heathcliff but yeah he was a good guy... I don't really think there was a clear distinction between goodies and baddies in this story actually. The characters were complicated like that but if there was one Hareton is definitely good...

I think the 1939 version, with Laurence Olivier is the best there is, even though many things from the book were left out. I think it was the most authentic in the description of the love between cathy and heathcliff!

Funny how everyone thinks that it is such a great love poem. It's basically a man trying to get a woman to sleep with him. And then he starts talking about worms. Very romantic. ;-)

Don't forget he was only 24 years old when he filmed this movie. Maybe that's why his voice sounds different to you. It sounds perfectly normal to me! He has a beautiful voice.

Ugh, he was just so yummy in this role, but the role got so little screentime, it makes me frustrated! I mean how long can you play those 3-4 good scenes over and over?! Well, let's find out...

Yeah, I thought Heathcliff and Cathy’s story was tragic and it moved me but they were both pretty horrible. What was sad was what could have been had societal expectations not twisted their initially loving relationship into what it became.
@cozicomfi3 жыл бұрын
@@Dearmylove_i yea, almost everyone around heathcliff and cathy thought they were unequal simply because heathcliff's some gypsy cathy's father adopted; even cathy herself thought heathcliff was below her although she admitted that he and she are like soulmates.
