The story to these(and most other) gachas are slowburns. Thats always been a thing and has Just been up to someone if they are interested. Given 1.0-1.3 of Genshin and other games I feel that WuWa's story will pick up more as it has since the introduction of scar. They have the introduction out of the way and are soon going to be putting more into making interesting stories if they are as interesting as character stories.

The early story is not authoritative, what is important is the commitment of the development team. And Kuro is so dedicated to their games. Wuwa has poteniton, just like Genshin. I hope these two games will competitive and challenge each other. Then Hoyo and Kuro fans will be happier.

Echoes has made wuwa have more edge and Also the difficulty aswell and the Climbing so many advantages. and the stamina isn't always consumed . added to that the weapon is 100% guranteed gacha five star weapon and the pity on limited character banners is just 80 pity and yup mobility of wuwa has air grapling and the Glider has a much faster tech .

Honestly the smaller roster isn't that much of a problem, especially considering how much you have to learn about each characters movesets and unique gimmicks like Sanhuas Reverse Edge attacks. You're getting more quality from WuWa than the Quantity when it comes to characters, with every character feeling unique I doubt you'll get tired of it. +4 stars are just characters that are easier to pull, but in reality the amount of work put into them makes them basically pocket 5 stars.

@@ReN_Piece It looks like they are doing set up. Every good story long term needs setup so it's kind of a necessary evil. Otherwise you don't have high highs in the story beats and your payoffs can fall a bit flat. PGR took until chapter 11 to get really good. It doesn't seem like WuWa intends to take nearly that long but we are currently in what I would call a "prologue arch". I would personally say that right now 1.0 story for WuWa is looking better than 1.0 for Genshin imo. I don't think people remember how dull Mondstat was from a storytelling perspective. It wasn't very good. It was actually very generic and largely uninteresting even though the quest design was pretty good. None of the characters were that compelling. I think Venti was the only character from Mondstat that was compelling and that only lasted a short time. The reason I bring up character writing is because I believe Kuro character writing is currently unmatched. They've always had a knack for writing characters that are not only likable but leave you wanting to know more than you were given. This isn't just true for PGR but WuWa as well. I don't think there are any characters that are surface level or boring currently. Sorry for the wall of text this is just my thoughts for why I think WuWas story has the potential to be much better than Genshin if they keep up what they did in PGR

I think the mistake people make is comparing later Genshin story instead of 1.0. WuWa's story isn't the most amazing yet but it's not even out yet. Also I think the story is pretty solid for a 1.0 launch story

I think WuWa will be the better game overall. It has a substantially better pity system, the combat is much more involved and fleshed out, and echoes are essentially infinitely farmable. Music, aesthetics, and story can be much more subjective, but compared to Genshin 1.0 WuWa isn't any worse. I think the biggest detractor for Genshin's 1.0 story is the bane that is Paimon, and the painfully slow development from starting on the beach until Venti gets their gnosis stolen by Signora. Once you get to Liyue things pick up but overall it was a slow burn. WuWa will be similar since it picks up once you meet Crow, but not dealing with Paimon is already a plus. As for characters, I think WuWa does a good job. It's a modern post-apocalyptic world, so everything is muted, and that means that the characters won't be as flashy as Genshin. It fits with the theme. That being said, Kuro has a good track record with skins so people will likely get an opportunity to have more iconic looks once/if those hit the game. Now, do I want WuWa to kill Genshin? No. I want WuWa to do so well that Hoyo has to really push themselves to deliver a better experience, because as it stands pulling can feel really bad in Genshin, especially for weapons, and the overall game just hasn't really changed in 4 years. This is in stark contrast to HSR, where they've added other modes or complimentary endgame activities over the course of the year, and compared to 1.0 HSR I've enjoyed it much more with all that stuff added to it. On top of that, a lot of the events are still playable once they've "ended," which I hope Kuro takes a page from HSR and does that.

I think the minor details of WuWa would really make the difference i.e., the pity system as you said the farm aspect and the Paimon struggles along with the slow story its tough. And WuWa has the opportunity to be the 'brand new toy' so the story would be more interesting for a while that is if it isn't an absolute banger . their character is different but the post apocalyptic take really simplifies the rugged approach they decided to take. i don't want it to be a GI killer as well so both games can improved on their own and then they could really compete for out time and attention

Gachas revolve around having a good gameplay loop to keep players coming back, so if the story is mid then it isn't really that disappointing, but if the gameplay loop isn't there then we have another Genshin situation and that'd be tragic. I'm hoping that WuWa watched what Hoyo has been doing with HSR, because HSR is almost a love letter to their community with how much feedback they implement. There's a ton of QoL that they could emulate from HSR that would make the game as a whole a banger.

to correct a little mistake you made, wuthering waves also has the 50/50 system, but it is only on limited 5 star characters, what makes wuthering waves better is the standard and weapon banners; wuthering waves standard banner is divideed to weapon and character, if you reach pity on the character standard banner you are guaranteed a character, and if you reach pity in the weapon standard banner you will get a weapon, but in gesnhin the standard banner houses both wepons and characters, so its 50/50 btw weapons and characters, and in the limited wepon banner, genshin has the worst wepon banner in my opinion, where it is a 50/50 btw two limited weapons and you can choose the one you want, but if you dont get the one you want it is not guaranteed after the second pity, but the third pity if your luck was bad, whereas wuthering waves just gives you your weapon at pity, so that is the only correction i have to give, and oh, Genshin has better music currently, nothing can beat port ormos music

1:19 Genshit has been on a constant downward spiral since release also I wouldn't compare WuWa to Sekiro as WuWa is more dodge based with parrying to reward people who are actually paying attention. Sekiro on the other hand is completely parry based and has a dedicated parry button (you can just spam it) rarely ever using dodge outside of unparryable, mikiri counter and head stomps for leg sweep attacks

i think the thing about being able to dash in wuwa, and not in genshin, is that the world in genshin is more compact, while in wuwa, everything is more spread out, which is why there is an unlimited dash. not saying i wouldnt want the parkour stuff from wuwa in genshin but that's just my take

Now every character play style is switching to elemental mastery, Now the fontain update anyone notice how the new characters from fontaine use and consume hp on their skill example , Neuvillete, Furina, wriothesley, arlechino, clorinde, singewinde these charcters uses hp cost on their skill so they can deal number of dmg and the artifacts domain so are focus on hp cost artifact i bet in natlan the meta would shift again to another mechanic. So for me it can be good or bad Good : because ppl will play different play style and match the desired play style they want Bad: because some players dont want to change teams to the current meta to feel relevant and do more damage than the previous meta so its like we are following a standard playstyle for this update some players dont wnt that and they want their characters they pulled to be relevnt and strong in any patches it will give them the feeling that this character is seasonal In wuthering waves i hope we dont see that standard just play the character you want meta or not you can deal strong dmg regardless of team or team combination

These two games really are great but individually a lot of aspects in each title has its upsides and downsides. Generally Genshin Impact we know exactly what it offers and what to expect especially seeing the time frame in which the game has been released. Wuthering Waves gets a chance to improve on parts of Genshin Impact that generally might not be as good as it should be. It is a brand new game so going it depth a bit more naturally is the right thing to do. But of course I fully understand your views and appreciate them. I will give Genshin Impact its due diligence 🙏🏼

The echo system RNG and grind has been improved btw, it will be much more enjoyable at launch. The devs were fixing it while the CBT2 was happening, meaning that they are already way ahead on development than they show to the public.

I have two accounts, one I started a year ago, the other a couple months ago so now is a perfect time to start as the upcoming banners will be great characters to build teams around There's a lot of content, took me about a year to get through 80% of it and devs say we are only 1/3 into the story so plenty of future left in the game There's a ton of exploration and quests, but you don't have to plow through all of it, just enough to level your characters to 80-90 for endgame level combat (couple months or more), then the rest you can just do if you feel like it or you need the loot for more wishes/level up material. So at first, when you are trying to level up fast, it is time consuming unless you are ok with reaching harder combat at a slower pace Dailies and events don't take up too much time so you can pace yourself however you want - you can always watch playthroughs of people starting a new account recently to see if the pace is something you'd enjoy worst case scenario, it can entertain until WW comes out in 2 weeks lol

I think it has big part to do with me losing more than one pity it even happened in honkai star rail. But the “brand new toy” feeling wuwa gives me is probably the cause as well lol
