In the opposite end, we have the almighty hydro traveller with 6s screen time out of obligation (probably can be further reduced by a second or two). No wonder he got beat up by Arle badly. Dehya is the best carry for Dragonspine exploration: she never dies from the cold even if you leave for ten minutes, and since she's pyro she can also light torches Kaveh is the best at surviving burgeon / Nilou teams, since he gets healed by the dendro cores. So a decent option as a dendro driver if you don't want to bring a healer / shielder

@@Konomidebanshouwashikisesur Neuvillette is mostly a charge attack user as well. Doesn't synergize anywhere near as well with the rest of the cast as a normal attack spammer like Ayato. Lots of abilities only trigger off of normal attacks. Aside from that, Ayato's burst buffs the whole team's normal attack damage. Ayato also has much bigger AoE than Neuvillette, as well as more consistent access to AoE hydro application. Neuvillette is better in terms of on field damage numbers, but that's about the extent of what the character offers.

You can literally hit every enemy at the same time because of his stupid beam. And I'm not even gonna include Spin to Win because that's just unfair on any other aoe character. Ayatos normal attack buff doesn't really matter because only he can use it in his teams. And Neuvillette has actually the same amount of hydro application as Ayato when on field.

I’ve built and played with most of the hydro characters and I’d say Ayato is currently the most VERSATILE even if he’s not the most powerful. He can be used as a main DPS, a driver, or even an expensive off-field burst support/wide-spread hydro applicator. His slashes are wide enough for some AOE but can also be used in single-target. He works in any hydro reaction team: Freeze, Vape, Electro-Charged, Bloom, etc. He can still make use of other characters like Yelan, Xinqiu, Yun Jin and Thoma too because he uses Normal attacks. If you look at all the other hydro characters in game so far, I don’t believe any of them can match Ayato in the number of different ways he can be played or the teammates he can work with at C0.

Kaveh is the safest on-fielder for Nilou teams with maxed bountiful core damage buffs since he can serve as a self-healing human shield. Other characters, if they’re not shielded, will take heavy bloom damage that may outright kill them or be difficult to heal depending on your healer. Kaveh actually gets healed himself by the bountiful cores exploding all around him which is both hilarious and incredible to witness. If he wanted to, he could just stand there while everything else but himself dies to bountiful cores. 😂 And for Layla, I believe she also is the only shielder we have with consistently good uptime on the Tenacity of the Millelith set besides Zhongli. But for Zhongli to do what Layla does for TofM uptime, he has to place his pillar(s) very carefully and not have them destroyed.

i think Wriothesley have the most Questionably best C1 buff to character in game since it gives : - Nearly uptime skill duration by extending it - cut half gracious rebuke cooldown - gives gracious rebuke on normal atk combo - increase Special charge atk damage from 50% bonus to 200% bonus Hoyo just said "get C1 to fully play Wriothesley"

@@tigeress151 Well, Neuvilette's c1 doesn't actually increase your damage at all, it just opens the possibility of using other teams more effectively, like with Furina, but it doesn't directly buff his damage.

wriothesley's c1 does not even create a 10% damage difference, the difference between it and c0 is very low due to icd problems. c1i just makes his own damage look high, it doesn't contribute much to dpr.

Wriothesley c1 ups his damage by 30% in melt teams (which are the teams you already run him in, calculation was done by TGS and IWtL) and he has no ICD on his CA so he has no problems with ICDs at all. Without considering the team it is still one of, if not, the strongest C1 in the game since it gives him a healing CA after all his normal strings, and still gets bonus damage on said CA. Neuvilette C1, without a team is just interruption resistance for no damage increase. Considering the team I don't know of a C1 that spikes the damage higher than his, since (discounting furina, which is because of furina herself not c1) even Neuvilette C1 doesn't up his damage by that much. All of this is also to consider that C1 fixes his gameplay, making his combo from an HP *NEGATIVE* to an HP positive rotation and adds a more reliable stack of rebuke other than losing HP.

Since it conflicts with Xiangling, in some cases you need to do charged it before collecting the full stacks, otherwise you cannot trigger melt, especially against non-boss opponents his c1 almost completely loses its function.

I would add that hydro traveler is by far the most accessible character with a pneuma alignment, since it was included for Lynette and ousia I thought this would be a good property to mention! The only other pneuma characters must be obtained through gatcha, and Lynette was given out for free specifically so players would have that ousia attack for Fontaine exploration. Besides, it's not like hydro traveler has much else going for them... this is the least they can offer! :D

- layla is able to hold key of khaj-nisut enabling her to provide a full party em buff given a small modification to the team's rotation. this is often at the cost of lengthening a rotation but in tandem with TOTM provides the largest offensive utility of all the shielders in pyro carry vaporize teams against freezable mobs, enabling some hits to melt instead of vaporize. - candace at c6 has the best aoe off field hydro application based on normal attacks, making her the best option over xingqiu or yelan in some aoe scenarios for a low constellation arlecchino - razor's unique damage ceiling from the overburgeon archetype comes from his unique elemental burst, which applies electro to himself enabling him to self-overload with bennett's pyro self-application - kokomi is the only character whose damage scales off the healing bonus stat... - while you mentioned childe's riptide being good for aoe mobs scenarios, it, along with the 'booking' interaction (pausing the game mid-domain challenge through menu options) can be abused to accumulate unreasonable amounts of points in fast-spawnimg mob events - dehya consolidates tenacity of millileth uptime, resistance to interruption, and burning application and pyro resonance and is a competitive slot for ganyu-nahida burnmelt teams due to being the only defensive option -shinobu has the largest potential em ceiling of the full-uptime hyperbloom drivers due to being able to hold r5 key of khaj-nisut, converting hp% to em. - collei is able to frontload her dendro application with sacrificial bow and c6, making her the best dendro applier option in nilou bloom in certain mob waves based scenarios. - dori is a better option compared to both raiden and shinobu when it comes to enabling hyperbloom in co-op - wriothesley is the unit that takes the most advantage of the burnmelt interaction as furina is enabled to forward vape in tandem with his cryo application - sucrose is the best on-field anemo/vv driver for electrocharged, cataclyze, and overvape teams, as she consolidates anemo infusion on her normal and charged attacks (making her anemo applications not reliant on cooldowns), grouping, and a teamwide em buff. she's also the only anemo unit able to swirl guoba's self-applied pyro, an interaction that enables the fastest double-swirl in the national archetype and certain overvape teams (e.g. sukokomon) - heizou is a better on-field anemo driver for quickswap freeze teams than sucrose due to his higher anemo damage multipliers and the freeze archetype's lack of a need for em buffs or grouping - lynnette's burst shares the anemo traveler's different elemental absorption priority, absorbing cryo before pyro. - gorou has a unique na string among bow users with NA1 having no frame delay, which enables a faster form of RR-cancelling without the need for an uncharged charged shot. this makes him the best physical bow carry in the game and the character that best takes advantage of this interaction. - due to yanfei's a4 passive having hitlag and ability to take advantage of lost prayers' movement spd buff, she's the only catalyst character to be able to take advantage of fhe dragonstrike interaction and plunge attack without the assistance of xianyun - yelan's c4 is the only source of supportive max hp buffs in the game beyond hydro resonance (as opposed to self-applied buffs such as furina's c2 and weapon) - electro traveler has a niche in overworld as they're able to restore energy on demand, making your favorite high burst cost carries much easier to use - bennett is also the best at breaking electro shields with thundering fury lol

not just that, Lynette has really the only good taunt because of how the aggro system works. it has a long duration and does continuous damage, meaning the enemy actually will usually target it instead of you, especially if you use it at the start of your rotation.

Amber's bunny is still unique that it can infuse with cyro, that can let you swirl cryo against enemies that have shields or permanent elemental infusion. Ayato is the best hydro taser driver when surrounded by enemies, due to huge area of rapid hydro application allowing electro-charged to jump automatically, triggering even more reactions. great for Nahida and Fischl that triggers with reactions. Barbara has the fastest hydro application in the game under certain conditions (with her ring touching 4 or more targets, including dendro cores or own summons that have hitbox such as Amber skill or Lynette burst). This makes her the strongest hydro applicator in freeze bloom teams. Her self-infusion also allow you to swirl or infuse hydro with anemo skills even when the enemy is immune to hydro infusion. She is also the only hydro catalyst character that make good use of the Favonius Codex. Anemo Traveler has the highest potential of resistant shed against Coppelia, with Sword of Narzissenkreuz (which disables 25% resistance increase during Coppelia's climax), VV set (40%) and c6 (20%), for a total of 85% resistance shred (against pryo, hydro, cryo or electro) provided by a single character. Electro traveler produce the longest unconditional off-field electro resistance shred through her c2 (covering up to 20 seconds with 12s burst up-time and 8 seconds of resistance reduction duration upon hit). She also have unique mechanic that can recharge energy for the character you want, with sacrificial sword she is great for rapidly recharging Cyno or Eula who don't want to build ER themselves. Hydro Traveler can produce the fastest number of hits with her burst (12 hits per second against a single target, even more with multiple small targets) by abusing dendro cores and anemo grouping. This hydro MC hypercarry is even viable for the abyss. Xinyan at c2 is the best pyro shielder for Neuvillette+Kazuha because the self infusion allows infusing Kazuha burst with pyro even when the enemy is on hydro or other elements.

Electro MC uniquely has an ult that always strikes AFTER you do, which makes it pretty useful for hyperbloom actually. If you have R5 Xiphos, you can load her up on EM and still have the ER she needs to burst. Outside of that shes the best single target battery in the game (meaning she does actually give more energy than Raiden, but only to a single character) but usually not worth the slot

Ayato is the best on-field hydro character when used for bloom-related reactions, especially for burgeon and Nilou teams: Ayato is still the best on-field hydro driver when you need normal attacks; namely as a burgeon driver. He has massive aoe with his slashes while still proccing Thoma's burst for burgeons. Ayato is also the only hydro character who is damage focused and has relevant on-field and off-field hydro application. This also means he's the best secondary hydro in Nilou bloom teams because out of your 4 slots, 1 goes to Nilou, 1 goes to Nahida, 1 goes to a dendro healer, and last one goes to Ayato. And when you're swapping off Ayato to refresh the other characters' abilities, Ayato burst is still giving you a respectable amount of blooms. Not Neuvillette because he doesn't count as normal attacks and has no off-field presence. Not Childe because his skill gets massive cooldown issues and no off-field presence. Kokomi is a decent option and probably the other best alternative; Barbara can be an okay budget replacement Mona is a debuffer and does something else. Xingqiu and Yelan are pretty much all off-field only, so there's little benefit for running them on-field over their off-field role. Candace's value is locked behind c6 except in Nilou bloom teams with Yaoyao.

As a Eula main I can confirm that physical is nowhere near a "Bad" element, it's only worse in comparison to others. The good thing about physical is that NOTHING is immune to it, and with just one electro character like Lisa, she can wipe out any damage resistance an enemy has.

Baizhu's C2 also heals with no field time as the dendro application is his skill, making him an entirely off-field healer. His C2 also procs underwater making him one of the very few (if not the only) character able to deal elemental damage while diving.

electro trav actually has the best flat energy to 1 other unit, especially with fav sword. C4 with all 3 amulets provides 24 flat energy if you get the double bonus, well also preped with fav sword providing all that white energy particals, well also providing bonus ER% on to the person who got the amulets by 30%-45% depending on travs ER%. if you trav E with fav sword into insta switch to pick up the amulets, youll get bonus ER before getting white particals. this actually makes ER heavy units like noelle, itto, xiao and if you dont got a good team for cyno actually need 0 ER. downside, only 1 unit can get this massive ER boost. burst also provides flat energy to active unit, but balancing the use of burst is a bit hard. burst also techiclly can hit 24 times for 24 flat energy(32 with C6) but not reasonable with chars to trigger it every 0.5s. but regardless it also is another source of flat energy.

Klee has RNG involved in hers. With ping allowing, Ning can do N1C1 over and over, though for most of us, me included, it probably requires N2C1. And, of course, there's C1 Hu Tao (cons are part of the kit), who can charge attack for 0 stamina, though for some stupid reason still needs to have enough stamina to pay for the charged attack as if it didn't cost 0. However, I think Yanfei's is actual stamina reduction. As in, it reduces stamina uses for all things, including dodging, rather than only impacting CAs.

Also Anemo traveler has unique swirl priority, different from any other character. While for all other characters it's Pyro>Hydro>Electro>Cryo, for anemo traveler(only) priority is Cryo>Pyro>Hydro>Electro. It makes possible to build an ice bridge, unlike Kazuha, Sayu and other(Sayu need to be infused with Cryo beforehand, so it doesn't count). Pretty strange and obscure detail, and they are definitely best at it!

As local MC consultant I can tell you what Electro and Hydro MC excel at. Electro excels at dealing good off field electro damage with alot of energy gain and can increase incoming energy to characters that pick up the things from E, they function more like Yae Miko since its better to build them EM, ER hybrid since the pure damage isnt the best but also isnt amazing. Hydro MC has very little going for them except for the niche fact that they are only of the only characters ingame with consistent “Skill damage” being done, this means that they are one of the only units ingame capable of maximizing any buff for skill damage, and with upcoming characters who can buff “skill damage” in a manner similar to shenhe then its possible for them to actually deal considerable damage, they also have really good tap E vape damage, and the Ult damage is actually really good but sadly keeps moving and has a pretty small AOE. TLDR: Electro trav = Weaker Yae but with much more battery when using sac, Hydro trav = able to abuse an obscure buff and holds potential with future supports releasing buffing them far more than most other units.

Hello, Ayato main here. I would say that he is the most versatile Hydro five star char out there. You can focus building on his E + normal attacks (main DPS), or his Q (Hydro Applicator/ Sub-DPS/ Quickswap) which deals decent off-field damage. He is a character I never really took out of my abyss runs because you can literally put him in any team and cause it’s fun to figure out what team works with him during the current Abyss rotations. He is a character I never regretted to pull and use despite people saying that Neuvillette powercrept him. You can build a pretty solid team on every reaction that involves hydro in the game even mono hydro.

Ayato is the best off field AoE hydro applicator with his burst Barbara is great at hydro application, and she's the best fridge bloom driver against groups of enemies because of her skill's special ICD against multiple enemies (bringing her hydro application higher than Kokomi's against 3+ enemies iirc), and she can also run Favonius to refill everyone's bursts while they're off field Diluc is the best self-melt character in the game with Chongyun. He can NA>E>NA to melt his own hits because he has 3 elemental skill charges. (You can also self vape with Candace, you get the point). This completely removes the need to build any character except Diluc on the team in order to deal decent elemental damage (pyro/hydro/cryo). Freminet can be used a particle bot since I think his skill generates particles even under his burst (I could be wrong, I only did his trial) Ganyu is the best off field cryo applicator too, with 100% uptime on her burst
