WV Day 3: High Water Lower Meadow into 14,000 CFS Upper Gauley

For a while in middle and high school the Meadow was a go-to weekend day trip. There was a time where I was comfortable showing anyone down, but then for a few years it ran less frequently and I moved onto other class V creeks. It had been a LONG time coming for me to get back on one of my all-time favorites, a very different paddler than the last time I ran it (the last run I did was in a blue prototype phantom). Great video. One of my best days on the river was on the Lower Gauley at 14,000 on the 4th of July about 20 years ago. It's a completely different river at higher levels, and way more fun with huge wave trains. Actually less technical than normal flows with tons of play spots. The lower meadow I never got to do, and now I'm to old so I regret never paddling it back in the day.

Holy cow! I can’t believe that the bottom right undercut on Double Undercut was covered! It still looked like it sieved out into the right boulder tho.
